Ok,
so my car has been in storage since December.
I went to take it out and when I started it I notice a squeaking and then smoke coming from under the hood.
Lo and behold the alternator had seized an the belt was slipping on the pulley.
After going to the local Autozone and getting the alternator and belt replaced I now find that the belt given to me seems to be to short (Duralast Part #925K6).
After fooling with it for sometime I went to the local O'Reilleys thinking that maybe the Autozone book had the wrong info.
I now have a Gates belt (Gates Part #K060926) and guess what,
It's to short too.
Has anyone else run in to this problem?
Local dealership says that Motorcraft belt will take about a week.
Suggestions?
