There has been some discussion recently of folks having less than desirable experiences removing the short overhead console.
I had occasion last week to remove mine due to my moon roof not working and the console filling up with water after a rain event.
I turned the problem over to Jason my Honda Mech and he had the console removed in less than 30 seconds with no breakage of plastic tabs and very little force applied. It's a matter of leverage.
Here is a picture of the console, tabs intact, and the tool he used to pop the tabs.
He started at the left front corner (closest to the windshield) and worked round counterclockwise. There are four tabs, two close together middle front and one on each side. left side near the outside rear corner, right side about the about half way down.
