A story on and about me --read and laugh along---
Sometimes things just get plain funny if you have the mind set to take it with out getting totally upset. This is such a case that involved me --- cleaning my K & N filter on the MM .
Now its located under the right front headlight assembly as its a water to air Vortec supercharger -- To get to it you need to remove the right front tire and then loosen two hose clamps over the tubing and then the filter for removal.
Did this and performed the normal cleaning with the K&N cleaning material. Re assembled everything and went to start it and got the chug-a chug and spit and engine cough and stop many time trying to start and hear it run. Now I am at my wits end--after all I only handled the filter so it had to be a problem with what I did--. After more attempts of this frustration grew and panic started to set in as I am thinking I must have ruin the MAF. Wait for it--
I took everything off again and as I was pulling off the filter I noticed the "arrow" on the MAF pointing towards the headlight??? I do a "what the what"---and think "that can't be right" but guess it was cause I took it off that way--( still with me on this--) Still it hasn't hit me yet-- I take it off and rest the parts on the table and blow more air over the MAF and start to re assemble and had the MAF going backwards (again--but wait) =and said to myself---"that won't work stupid--the arrow has to be the other way--its a MAF - has to have air over it --sucking in- not blowing opposite!"--so I change it and put it back together and reassembled and it started perfect--oh yeah it hit me then---"
Talk about duh hu!!=
SO I unlike some don't have a problem telling on myself--I laughed all day long--reminding myself all day -" its a arrow for a reason knuckhead"--next time look at it before assembling--
Maybe some of you have had a similar experience doing something wrong right in front of your eyes and don't see it till further investigation and you go --"what the what" how could I have done that??!!
