There is a method to defeat Irma, but it's going to take a concerted effort by all Floridians.

We know that hurricanes derive their force from warm waters. The current temperature of the Caribbean is 86 degrees F.

We know that Florida is a big party state.

We know that parties require a lot of ice.

So we turn all our ice makes to high, create an iceberg, tow it to the Keys and viola we have a small tropical storm instead of a major hurricane.

Any questions?

The down side is that your hurricane cocktail will be warm.

It seems that others have some interesting ideas on how to defeat Irma as well. Don't really know how effective it may be...

You know that Irma has shifted course from hitting Miami (east side) to the opposite side of the state, Key West.
So it seems these fans, all 59,000 of them are effectively moving the hurricane (ROTFLMAO).

They should take a bunch of big tug boats and pull that huge chunk of Antarctica's ice shelf that just broke off...
up into the Carribean and cool off all these Hurricanes.

Then there'd still be plenty of ice for your cocktails!

With Friends and Family in the path I just don't see any humor in it.

I wish the best for all being impacted by Irma.

I'd much rather hear about the wildfires in my back yard, but Irma has pre-empted all 4 of my local channels for the last 24 hours....arrrgggh!

Lots of weather guys standing out in the wind and rain....none of them want to talk about how they 'screwed the pooch' on Irma's predicted track:
Miami will be relatively unscathed...but Tampa/St. Pete is going to get hammered!
Florida Keys got blasted...they are always in the bullseye.

Hey guys, Irma left us without power and a corner portion of my privacy fence collapsed. The neighbor has a generator and was nice to hook me up for my fridge. Folks in Miami are well and have an uncle in Cape Coral without power, some roof tiles gone and some screen was ripped from his lanai. Thanks to the powers of above, can't wait for the power to come back on.... I miss air conditioning...oh, the MM without a scratch on her

Great to hear!

My cousin in Cocoa has some trees down and exterior lights tore off house. She was very lucky!

I hear not a single pair of work boots was stolen during the looting. Go figure.

We had some damage.

Lost the shed ( it decided to go visit the neighbors yard)
Lost some aluminum soffit.
Lost some roof shingles.
Lost part of the fence.
Neighbors tree tried to flatten my fence (it was successful) Good thing it's PVC and mostly bounced back to shape.

The eye went over out town at 2:15 in the morning.

We had a tornado about 1000 feet away from the house skip around and thankfully went over our house. My daughter said " Dad I here the train"

Other than that, very thankful to be here.
