My mechanic in town here (also in CA) built up a CARB approved Super Snake in a similar fashion a few years ago, ending up with over 700HP. He added a roll bar, and some other goodies. I understand the Super Snake starts with a GT 500 and goes up from there. Big bucks.

Unfortunately, the older gentlemen driving it had no idea how to handle the power, and the first time he took it out and jumped on it it got away from him and took off across the road and up to the top of an embankment, then rolled over (so the roll bar was a good addition.) [emoji6]

Makes you sick to think about it. Not sure if the guy still has the car.
