Sub 20 outside with snow on the ground. Time for a Marauder information dump. Sorry gang :)
Ever wondered about Marauder wheel treatments throughout the years?
You can see them all (almost) here https://sites.google.com/a/wmich.edu/supermarauder/home/marauder-history
Sorry about the link, but I haven't replaced photobucket yet. Yes, I'm missing the 1969 wire cover, and the trim ring and center cap for the 1969/70 wheel, but you can easily find examples in a search.
As for the trivia
The 1963 Marauder and Marauder S-55 used 14" wheels standard.
There was a 15" wheel option which got you the spinner covers pictured.
Other than the 15" covers, there was no optional cover for the Marauder.
While lots of folks know that the Marauder S-55 came with the tri-colored wheel cover, most don't know there were actually two different versions of that cover, one with a "bright" center and one with an "opaque" center. Don't know what determined which one you got.
More to come...
