Many here have been here done that types and have been enjoying their efforts for some time now. Other people, well they still got the bug and there’s new stuff out there.
Some of the things getting done this season starts on top with the replacement of the ported and wore out Eaton. The Eaton is getting the lobes Teflon coated and the case Powered Coated then new bearings, shims and off to its new owner.
The replacement Gen 2 TVS was set in place to check for hood clearance and to come up with answers early on and Riley was ecstatic to see the TVS fit under the stock hood, that is awesome btw. Something that’s been discovered is the IAT2 sensor on the TVS doesn’t protrude deep enough to measure the moving air flow like a stock cobra does

To fix the problem the mounting boss needs to be milled down about .450”

Took it to two different machine shops only one had the bit long enough to do the job.
With the Installation of the TVS the egr is being deleted and the cobra vacuum harness will also be removed and plumbed to the TVS specs.

Next on the list is driveshaft stress, after speaking with Lucas @ the drive shaft shop the driveshaft is at its critical speed when it begins to bow under torque and rpm. Pretty confident he’s going to get it fixed right. This drive shaft issue was first discovered on the Dyno and it was at about 120ish in the speed aspect but you could roll through the gears just fine all the way to the top till it got close in fourth and that’s about time to let off anyway, it went 10k miles this summer.
Another item, there’s a pin hole in the transmission tailshaft housing, last winter it was drilled and tig welded but evidently it didn’t take so a replacement is about $240. While the transmission is out the pilot bearing and throw out will be replaced and the clutch probably will need to be twin disk.
The front brake brackets need powder coated and the rear calipers and brackets as well and the rear stainless brake lines need installed.
I’ll post up some more pictures as we go
