My 220 amp PowerBastards alternator (https://www.powerbastards.com/products.asp?cat=138701), right out of the box, never worked!
I am seeking an alternative, super high quality, 250 amp alternator. From what I have been reading, I like Mechman alternators.

Q1. Has anyone used Mechman alternators?

Q2. Will the one below work on my ride? If no, please share why and which of the Mechman's will work?

Q3. Is it possible to have an alternator that will work for NA (w/o blower) during motor break-in and then, after re-locating its position, work with the blower?
a. Or am I needing two alternators?

You'd probably be better off getting yours rebuilt locally.

This^^^ So many out there that claim to work on Marauders but don’t.

Have yours rebuilt by a shop.

Same alternator will work.

My procharger car had the clutched pulley removed and switched to an 8 rib non-clutched pulley.

I went where motown recommended, but I just went with a stock amp.
I haven't had any issues with it.

I thought people here use to die by DB Electrical alternators? Or is it better to get OEM rebuilt now?

I would rebuild the OEM , or try Mechman , Quality power isn't the same as it once was.

I think you mean the DB alternators died.

Mine did, getting it rebuilt locally.

I just did the big 3 alternator WIRING setup. On my 04 DTR and a Chrome powder coated 250 amp alternator on my car. It works flawless. Being I have a very serious sound system in my car. And now my cars electrical system is working strong. No more dimming when the bass hits. And it doesn't go under 11 volts. On idel in gear at a stop light. Windows go up and down faster too. But I also have a Optima Red top battery in my truck for my sound system. So that tends to help my too. I have to get the info. On what Company in Cali sold me mine. But it was way cheaper then the price you posted up. I will get back to you with the venders name. Oh and a lifetime warranty.

Cool. I too have a robust sound system. Per a comment above, I will add the ambulance lights.

Lowndex I am going to post a comment. On the thread I put a while ago. It has the name of the company. And what I paid for it. $295 bucks and they have black powder coated. I wanted chrome. So they powder coated it chrome like. You can see the pictures of it. A real deal 250 amp alternator for a Mercury Marauder. It work awesome on my car.

I run a 250amp DB electrical, I did blow it up once but they fixed it for free. All in all I like their products and customer service.

Yeah, I used one. Drove it around for a month in town, then drove 1,000 miles to Yosemite. It croaked right I was driving in to the campground :mad2:

The claimed the voltage regulator, supposedly an OEM Ford piece, died. I wasn't impressed, I'm running a rebuilt Ford unit now.

I have 800 watts of JL Audio installed 12 years ago on the OE alternator and I never need more than that. Unless Class D amps are being used and turned to 11, I cannot imagine why somebody would need 250 amps of current.

I have three 1000 watt amps, 16 speakers and portable freezer in the trunk to keep my beer cold.

Very simple dual fans , dual fuel pumps , 2-3 power amplifiers , intercooler pump , electric water pump , all of the modern day accessories can easily exceed the amperage draw on any oem alternator , look at todays cars the average alternator puts out more amperage than back in 2004.

It's common to upgrade to higher amp alternators on 6.0 diesel Ford's but not many go as high as 250amp and there's a real need there with gp's and the ficm. Seems overkill on a marauder with a stereo.
