Saw this on EBay today. Not mine but thought someone might be interested. Looks like it needs some work and possibly tires but at least as of right now the price is low.

DBGP.........

I looked at it on my home computer tower, its the same color all over the car, inside the jambs everywhere.

Looks greeenish still. Maybe he is using a old crapper phone

Note: The seller responded to me with the door jamb sticker.

Paint code........ JP which is silver birch. so its a silver birch car, now painted greenish blue.

Almost as rare as the DICK Marauder.

You gotta wonder what the extensive repaint cost. The details don't show if the handles/run channels/lights were removed. This might look decent from 30 feet away but this overall vehicle is what is known as a "run screaming".

It may be A blue, but it sure isn't THE blue.

WOW, that is unreal that they would advertise this as a blue Marauder. Good detective work.

The color looks like the paint on my Grand Marquis (Aspen Green)

So its a Clone Dark Blue Green Pearl Silver Birch (CDBGPSB) with prototype bumper. Hmm, that should count as something. What's the prototype bumper worth. Seems like there was a discussion on it a long while back.

Clearly no one is appreciating the prototype bumper. If it’s the real deal, it’s one of the few parts that are worth lots of money

Vin puts it in the 7700 and 7800 range of production.

Vin puts it in the 7700 and 7800 range of production. You're dead-on with that. I have it on my spreadsheet between 7700 and 7790.

This car made the rounds a long time ago (https://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=31379&page=2), and either nobody noticed the proto bumper or it's been added since then.

Here is the OASIS report for the VIN stated above:
Build date:6/9/03 Wty start date: 7/31/03
vehicle has no recalls or and title branding messages
OASIS shows no Ford extended or maintenance policies for this MM

Warranty repair history
Bob Maxey Lincoln Mercury Sales, Inc (Detroit, MI)
5/13/04 @ 9715 miles
replaced trans selctor shaft and seal (leaking)
5/26/04 @ 10694 miles
replaced broken inside rear view mirror

BTW, this MM used to be Silver Birch in color and had the cd changer option.

GT500P71 scored a proto bumper back in 2014 (https://www.mercurymarauder.net/forums/showthread.php?t=93017) (interestingly, that thread also mentions a car that 'used to SB'). Not sure if he sold his or what - I have a Facebook message in to him. gdmjoe did some detective work on 3W3D-17D957-A and found it was made in Guelph, Ontario - not too far from STAP.

Well, this is the last thing I expected to see on a beaten up example from WV...

I guess that makes two prototype front bumpers that exist. Now if only a rear would surface, so someone could make a replica of the concept car.

What makes it different? Looks like a regular Marauder bumper to me.

As if the paint color ain't bad enough, it also has the hideous Flint interior. :help:

What makes it different? Looks like a regular Marauder bumper to me. The little trim line goes all the way across the bumper. On regular production bumpers, the line stops right by where the grille starts.
Below is a production bumper...you can see the difference.

Now, the question is...who here thinks it's desirable enough to bid on the car? Already at $5k which would be steep for a basically stock MM in that condition.

So basically it has the crown Victoria removable trim piece and MGM lines with fog lights.

Probably a crown vic bumper that someone molded fogs in ;)

Isn't that just a chin spoiler added? ...I explained and demonstrated the difference just a few posts up.

In short: no, it is not just a chin spoiler added.

I see the difference now. Its an additional and wider trim line that wraps around the whole bumper. It runs below the thinner single trim line that all of us have that only runs below the headlights and side markers. Don't know why I didn't notice that. :o

If anyone wants a prototype bumper, but doesn’t feel like buying a whole ratted out car along with it, let me know! Mine is for sale.

How many cars came from the factory with the prototype bumper?

My question is, "Why would someone put a prototype bumper on a dog of a car?"
