Hey guys. I checked the fuses and I replace the fuel pump driver module and I have come to the realization that I need to replace my fuel pump. The car will intermittently crank but no start and you will not hear the fuel pump Prime. This is typically after a long cold night when I try to start it first thing in the morning.

So my question is this: which fuel pump make and model should I buy that will be the most reliable and easiest to install? I am naturally aspirated and have no plans to put a supercharger on.

Is there an upgraded pump that is a perfect swap? Where is the cheapest place to buy the Motorcraft pump? I don't see it on RockAuto or local auto parts stores

GT40 supercar pump was my choice .
No issues with it for seven years.

What year? I heard it's not plug and play? Is it cheaper or more expensive?

Nope, my future is an NA motor on my stand right now. This is my daily driver and I have no plans to make it anything other than a 13 second car.

Delphi looks like it's the OEM for the pump. Anyone use it?

How much it was.
I get my recommendation ($) from
Lonnie Doll .
If you have no plans to go faster ,
The OEM Pump is your best choice.

In case you did not know it there are two modules in the trunk that are for the fuel pump. I do not remember what they are called but I ended up having to replace both of them to get my fuel pump to work. That was after I had replaced the fuel pump. Good luck.

I replaced the fuel pump driver module. What's the other one?

Maybe he is talking about the fuel cut off switch when your car is wrecked it cuts juice.

You can drop the tank some, not all the way, and then get that clip undone and your good to go.

A Walbro 255lph pump is a "GT40" pump, is very high quality and is most likely much cheaper than a Motorcraft oem one. And you don't need to upgrade your wiring or do anything special to accommodate it. It doesn't matter if you are N/A.

I was thinking the fuel cutoff switch too. Do they go bad. I just popped mine out and may head to the junkyard...

I don't think Motorcraft sells the pump separately. All I can find is the entire assembly. Waste of money.

Yep I found the same. I am grabbing a new cut off switch from a local junk yard. If that doesn't work I will order the pump itself.

Jumper the wires together to tell if the switch is bad before replacing it.

Yep I swapped it out with 2 other relays. Also changed the fuse in case. Changed the fuel pump driver module and the inertia switch. I'm beat. Again.
