It was a beautiful Saturday, so I took the opportunity to wash & wax the Marauder.
Did some comparison shots of old school vs. new school.
Interesting how BIG the new Fusion looks next to the Marauder....
Didn't expect that!

The 7 month old Fusion Sport has almost as many miles on it as the Marauder....

The size comparison is surprising! You might expect it from the Taurus, but not the Fusion.

Swap spots between the 2 cars and take the same pictures. Then the marauder will look huge compared to the fusion.
Nice ride!

All new cars have that bulbous nose I don't really like because of a European regulation about pedestrians hitting their head on the hood and not hitting the engine.
how is the real world mpg on it?

This is basically what we get as the Mondeo over here, I just can't get my head around the modern Ford design, it's not for me.

I love the sharp edges/open mouth look they have been doing for a few years now. Funny how others have followed the leader in sales like Kia, and even Chevy now.

LOL....
I'm the same way; Every 20 years or so I go 'Old School' with a new car!
1966 Cobra S/C* - (last of the solid lifter 427s) *replicar
1985 Mustang 5.0 GT (last of the Holley 4bbl V8s)
2003 Marauder (last of the body-on-frame big sedans)
how is the real world mpg on it?
I consistently get 23 mpg mixed driving -> 28 mpg highway.....it's all about staying out of the boost, but that's no fun! :D

I'm with you. Ford hasn't produced an appealing product for me since 2004.
New stangs don't even do it for me.
Fag wheel drive just is not American.
Lefties have been taken the fun out of American cars for years now. It's a matter of time and there won't be one single rear wheel drive or 8 cyl around.

JEEZ!
I had no idea they legislated such a stupid law!
Next they'll require pillows on the hood or an airbag system on top of the intake manifold....WTF!?
Let's just put the cell phones down and avoid hitting pedestrians!
....and if you jaywalk....you're on your own!
:hmmm:
Then they should outlaw 'vortex generators' on the roofs of cars along with Big rear wings....
because when you hammer a pedestrian and throw him over the roof of your car...
they could get badly cut and maimed by these devices!!!

I'm a leftie and I like rear wheel drive. Also like the fusion, my wife has the Energi averages over 70mpg - its real quick the first 10 feet, once the little engine takes over for the electric motor - not so fast. Nice car though.

I recently sold my '93 Lightning and the kid called it a "Classic". I almost threw up.
Old school? Okay. I guess. Really?

Nope....original Beetles and Buses are cool, especially with 'Hippie flower power' paint jobs!

Good, now I can reveal I had a 1966 Blue and White VW Van.
Bought it with a blown engine in the Hills of Tenn, had an engine shipped there, swapped it out in a day then the "trip" began..........
Kept a Japanese WWII sword mounted to the back of the passenger seat.
Drove it up and down the East Coast.

I had a green 69 Bus. Shifter doubled as a 30" cast iron pipe in case someone caused me a headache. :nono:
The 4 x 4 rear bumper was handy in case I ran out of firewood.
Rear seat delete with 4" foam and green shag carpeted bed was endorsed by my girlfriend at the time....
Rust and unreliability was standard.

Oh, and her mom at the time helped make curtains for it! :banana2:
