Can I swap the computer from my 2002 crown vic sport into my 2003 police interceptor? Or dont even think about it. I want to test something. But not sure if they will be compatible.

Transponder key issues; I'd assume.

Well Dangit. I want rev limiter in first like my sport. The p71 even locked down into first gear will still shift into second eventually.

If this helps, I swapped a 2001 P71 ECU into my mothers 2002 Sport. I didn't even tell her at first, I just swapped it while I was putting in a new blower electronic resister thing, what a pain to get too!
I wanted to see if she would notice. She did! About 3 days later I get a call. "What have you done to this car?" I said, "what are you talking about?" She said, "I know you did something, because my car is a lot faster now, the transmission shifts better, and the red light on top of the dash flashes sometimes now when it didn't before."
I told her I had swapped in the computer out of a car I had junked out and I didn't even think about the light on the dash being affected, to bring it by and I will swap it back the stock computer is laying under the seat.
She said, "Yeah I hardly even notice that red light."

About a week later I get another call, "Hey whatever you did to my car is great, It doesn't even shut off at 108MPH anymore!"

And as byronrace said, you can not put the sport ECU in the 03 because the PATS will not let it start.

I have done a lot of parts swapping around on Panther cars but I have never tried a 98-02 ECU in an 03. There may be some glitches, but I do think it would run as long as it was out of a non-PATS car.
