Now THIS would be a serious temptation for me . . .

Verrry nice IMO. There are different concept pics out there (these are just artists pics - I m thinking the design will be somewhat different) but the rumors are a 6.1 or 5.7 L Hemi, perhaps supercharged with a 6-speed right out of the factory. AND it's RWD.

I should add there might also be a 4-door version.

They could do a resize on that big honkin grille, but otherwise not bad. :rasta:

bah, no way the production version will be that cool.
i've seen too many cool prototypes turn into dull production versions...

I noticed in other pictures that the tailpipes come out like the crossfire.
Very chic.

Define "keeper" ;)

We all took a chance on our Marauders. If we don't sample the new non-rice, RWD big cars, who will?

I believe there will only be a 4 door version of the Charger, no 2 door.

DT, It's the right color, now all it needs is the rebel flag painted on the roof, and 01 on the doors... Woo hoo! Dukes of Hazard 2006!

SRT-8 has already been assigned to the Chrylser Crossfire V8 sold in Europe.
The Charger would have to be designated as a different SRT for one,
unless there is plans on calling this version of the Crossfire the new CHARGER.

I believe I heard this too a few months ago. If I remember correctly, the rear doors open suicide style like the Saturn coupe. The car looks very cool!

I know I will get flamed for this..... so be it. But, we are having a lot of Intrepid R/Ts showing up in my city. And I mean a BUNCH of them!!! They are not bad looking cars at all. Especially the black with chrome wheels. The only thing I don't like is the single outlet exhaust system. Would have looked MUCH better with dual outlets (one on each side).

A friend of mine has duals on his intrepid, and my father has one for a company car. They're not bad cars, just not for me.

I think Dodge and Paramount Pictures have a contract. The Dukes of Hazzard movie suppose to come out either next summer or next fall. The fever for the Charger would be very high and the new 2006 Charger would be out just in time for the fans. Many would buy it just because of the name and not the looks. But if it will have the Hemi in it then it would sell. What if they came out with a limited edition 426 HEMI on the first 1000 cars?

That was the CNG one. "Clean Muscle". I prefer the smoother sexy lines of that one as well.

The picture I attached doesn't really do the car justice. Namely, it is a pretty large and comfortable looking car. The image makes it look more the size of a Dodge Neon.

Some departments have used these for patrol operation, never talked to them to see if they liked them, but a local PD that did use them are now using the Intercepters.

GAAGGGHHHH! :puke: What the he.ll ever happened to that way cool prototype they had out a few years ago? (See an earlier post in this thread!)
I was all set to try for one and it disappeared. Even as a 4dr, that thing had real style...Had a twin-turbo 4.7L borrowed from the Jeep, made something like 325hp, and (for the eco-nuts) it ran on compressed natural gas. Was a fantastic concept, and I thought it would follow the Viper and Prowler into production.

Y'know...Mopar's customarily had a way with tech advances in cars, but they always screw up the execution, and somebody else makes it to the marketplace first...

OK if you don't mind FWD

The Intrepid is more roomy than a "wimpala" Better performance specs too, (other than the brake fires)

Crossfire V-8??? I don't think so. I think what you are refering to is the Brabus Crossfire that has a 6.1L Mercedes V-8 stuffed under the hood. This car is made by a tuner in Germany (Brabus) and is by no means a factory vehicle.

The Charger will carry the SRT-8 designation, as will any car from Chrysler PVO that will have a V-8.

Both the ram and the viper both have SRT-10 attached to their name, so i am guessing that multipul cars , as long its the same engine, could have the SRT name plate on it.

Macon Marauder

They don't make the Intrepid anymore, do they?

Chrysler is supposed to be submitting a new car to NASCAR for next year's Nextel cup. The "production version" replaces the Intepid. Chrysler won't reveal the name yet. Rumored to be either Daytona or Charger...

Both concepts look cool, but I'll keep my Marauder!
