I have a quick question regarding this 03-04 Cobra Motor Swap. I know that you can swap the Cobra motor in the Marauder, but you have to "notch
the driver's side frame rail to clear the alternator. BUT, my question is, can I purchase the relocation brackets made for the Eaton Swap to avoid notching the frame? Are there any safety concerns notching the frame rail correctly?
Are there any other considerations (other than the usual Eaton swap stuff-moving battery, fuel pump upgrades, tune etc...) for the dropping in this fully dressed Cobra motor in my 04 Marauder?

oil pan, i think front cover too needs swapped. front cover might only need it when using like a Aviator motor to replace. not 100% sure on cobra swap, other than oil pan im pretty certain need changed.

I just helped the guy do this 2 months ago. If you use your Marauder timing cover oil pan oil pickup tube and oil filter adapter you won't need to notch the frame. you'll also need an 8 bolt flywheel cuz the Cobra engine has an a 8 bolt crankshaft

Notching the frame is red neck.
Get the brackets and COT from Jerry.

Thanks!I thought the alternator in the Cobra position contacted the frame. Does the Marauder timing cover eliminate that problem?

I also figure by the time you notch the frame "correctly", it would probably cost the same as Jerry's brackets.

Your best bet is Jerry’s brackets, but if you actually have the cobra engine you’ll still need to relocate the alternator in a custom fashion if you’re swapping timing covers and oil pans then you’ll see that the cobra cover has an extra hole in it and you will have to drill and tap that on the Marauder block.

I'm in the same boat I have a complete pull out of a 2003 cobra with only 20k miles minus the accessories.
If you use your Marauder timing cover oil pan oil pickup tube and oil filter adapter you won't need to notch the frame.
ok so it clears with the marauder oil filter adapter ?

why do i need to relocate the alt if it clears using the marauder adapter? whats the purpose in drilling and tapping it on the old marauder block that's not being used if i have the complete cobra block going in?
can anyone verify?

Yes use the marauder oil filter housing adapter. Put it on the Cobra engine The Marauder timing cover and The Marauder oil pick up tube. you need an 8 bolt flexplate flywheel besides that you're good. If your supercharged you relocate the alternator with Jerry's Eaton swap brackets. if you're not it'll stay in the same place it was before from the factory on the marauder.

He meant Marauder timing cover on a Cobra block. Most of us just fill the extra hole with epoxy and sand smooth. Never a drip of oil.
