If I could fill a large shop with any vehicle beyond what I currently have my 1st would be a 1977 Pontiac CanAm. Super rare, last year of the ‘colonnades’.

A local good friend of mine was president of the Can Am registry for 20 years.

Did you know you could get brown white red or black interior?

I knew there were multiple interior colors available but wasn’t sure which. Nice one for sale on eBay located in Illinois.

I've liked those since they first came out. Great looking car, and yes, rare. Even back then you didn't see many.

I had a '75 Grand AM. Beautiful car to me. The only problem was the plastic nose was completely rotted off. Called and called looking for that nose piece (before internet). Finally just replaced it with a lemans front clip. Interior looked just like the one listed on ebay above excert bucket seats and a floor shifter.

Good article. The ‘broken tooling’ story was crap IMO and it was true Can Am sales were cannibalizing Grand Prix sales. Lots of orders on the books and the spoiler could have been shipped at a later date.

Still dream of finding a good example and installing a SD ‘replica’ drivetrain as authentic parts are unobtanium. Functioning shaker and hood mounted tach too. The last true GTO imo.
