Haven't been on here much due to working a lot and my old laptop crapped out. My daily 08 Taurus Limited AWD was getting up there in miles and I knew the PTU (Power Transfer Unit aka transfer case) was a ticking time
bomb and out of warranty. Last year I started looking for a replacement since I haven't been able to do anything with the MM for quite a long time now :bigcry: . This past June I came across a deal I couldn't pass up on,
traded the Taurus in (which the dealer gave me $3500 for sight unseen on good faith that it was in as nice as condition as I said it was as originally offered $1700 for it) and came away with a 2013 Lincoln MKS Ecoboost
AWD with 29k miles on it. Currently have 45k smile miles on it now.

Finally got the windows tinted, couldn't take driving a fish bowl anymore and a somewhat local place had an opening that worked with my schedule.

It doesn't have that great american V8 exhaust roar or even the head turning appeal the MM has but it's quite the sleeper since it's basically a SHO dressed up and love hearing the turbos spool up. Car from factory does
13.7/13.8 (12-13 lbs boost) in low DA which is basically where I was at with the MM. It's tuned now and running 18-19 lbs boost and should be in high 12's.

You are supposed to install a drain plug in the PTU and change the fluid regularly.

That is about what boost I'm running in my Flex now, who did your tuning? The elevation and crappy fuel really make it hard get power.

The MKS is under warranty as well so I can't do a drain plug in it as it will void the Ford warranty. I'll just be changing the fluid the harder way for now via sucking fluid out the fill hole since no local dealer will do it as they quote their "sealed unit for life" garbage to me. Ford actually released a statement about the PTU just recently due to all the failures so maybe something will change about it.

The elevation and crappy fuel really make it hard get power. My tune is from Torrie @ Unleashed Tuning, seems to be middle of the road when compared to other tuners. Livernois uses a locked tuner so no user end adjustments and tunes very safe. SSI tunes on the high end and pushes the stock turbos to the max from what I've read. Will need a 3bar map sensor and one stage colder plugs, also a 170 t-stat is recommended but not required. I don't have one yet but will next month probably Stock plug gap is .030, Torrie likes .028 and when I change the plugs in the next month or so again I think I'll go down to .026.

Do you have an oil separator/catch can installed yet?

I have the 3bar, stat and colder plugs on mine. I do not have a catch can installed yet. I was just talking to Vortech347 about that this weekend, its on my short list of things to get in the very near future.

Ohhh NO!
Don't tell me that I have to start modding my Fusion Sport!!
I've sworn off all modding on new vehicles!!!

(Although a tune from Unleashed and Methanol injection might be in the cards....heh heh heh.....:D)

Hey Chris....I've got to get over to Capitol Raceway and run some bone stock ETs while the weather is still cool.... want to join in on the fun?

I really wanted to go with a Team RXP dual valve catch can but with all the extras it was just way too much money. Went with a UPR dual valve one.
