Good day,
Need some help from the experts. I am having electrical problems with my 04 Marauder. When putting the car in drive, the door locks will not lock, the interior floor lights will not go out, also the overhead light. Also am unable to set the alarm, it will go off within minutes of locking car/alarm with key fob. have changed battery in fob. Also, my local shop has been looking at the problem and replaced the door mechanism that told the car if the door was open. No joy there. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

check grounds and I suspect aftermarket alarm issue, short in wiring? check wiring harness behind driver side cam cover, it can rub on a stud into harness

What do you mean by door mechanism?
There is a switch on the door lock that signals when the door is open or closed.
Could also be the aftermarket alarm as mentioned.

Lights staying on inside the car is indicator that the alarm is seeing one of the doors open, thats why the alarm is going off.
I would check the wiring of the alarm, see where it ties into the door switches that turn on the interior lights.
I would also remove the alarm system, my personal choice.

The alarm is stock Mercury Marauder, the door mechanism is a "switch" that tells the car that the door is closed, like what you are describing.

ya, its stock mercury marauder alarm. It must be intermittant connection somewhere. I am able to lock the car via the interior door locks AFTER the car is shut off. Going back to shop in two weeks.
One of the door switches are not working

I had this issue some years ago. Bought the door switch and before I installed it the problem went away and never came back.

FYI... there is no "stock" Marauder alarm. It's either an aftermarket unit or a Ford unit that was installed at the dealership.

The red button on the key fob that sounds the alarm isn't factory?

One of mine started doing weird things with the door locks and I am blaming the keyless entry module. New one is $300

Just to let all know whatit was. Was the RR passenger door sensor switch. Anit-theft great now. Also had ALL my lights go out on me. Turned out to be blown lighting control unit from really bad installation of HID lights and LED brake light bulbs. :( She is all just great now. Thank you all
