Well here it goes .i was at work today and it started to be 92 degree and to hot to work outside .so i went to my pop and said i wanted to leave work early today to mow the lawn.he was like lets get outta here , Cool...i get home to find the birds were doing target practicing on my MM .So as i come back from claening the kids remind me (heh) the dragstrip is open.so off we went. What a great day and a bunch of nice people there as well.
IT was my first time running any car at any dragway .My first run was 14.2 @101.67 but when i did the 1-2 shift the car tried to spin sideway on me and i had to let up then hit it again But i had a reaction time of .655 so no wonder. The next run was a 15.726 @100.70 and the car took off at the start like that kenny brown video.after that i lite up the tires and got good traction and did my last 3 runs in the 13's.now i need to get this car into the 12's were i think it should be or am i wrong ?So if ya'll have any useful info fer me it would be greatly appreciated.

UPDATE!!!
Got my time lowered on 2 runs wed 23rd before i had to laeve to get a helmet..1st time was 14.1 because i didnt heat up the tires.2nd run got the tires sticky and ran a best of 13.139  :banana2: :banana2: .next i have to get nittos for 12's

My best run video (http://www.mercurygallery.net/mmnet/data/506/1524Picture_227.mov)

Here's a video of my best run against a lightning.i ran 13.460@104.65 and his was a 13.231@104.98

Please post all of the numbers off of each time slip and we can do an analysis.

I put all mine in excel and record the runs on micro cassette, I make notes driving to the slip shack and play it back on the way home.

Try some widened rims and Nitto tires.

Hey Mark!

Glad you had fun, and made a try at it.

IMO, you need practice, as well as some additions. You should definately be running in the 12's. It takes time, but you will learn how to feather this new found power into a productive launch. You need stickier tires. Those with big wallets immediately go to widened rims and Nittos. Great if you have another grand+ to toss into the arena! There are alternatives. Control arms will help keep the car straight. I believe Zack still has one set, and there are two for sale from folks who wanted bling factor rather than drag performance factor.
Get them!!!

Practice, practice, practice.....and if you do not, fine! See you in Indy, you may be my one and only ever S/C kill, and I will cherish it for life...:baaa:

Sounds like you had a good time. Your one up on me now or two or three for that matter. Yes you should be in the low 13's to high 12's from what I've read on here. Good luck on your next couple of runs. Maybe trying waiting when it is not so hot and humid next time.

I believe B.F.Goodrich makes a drag radial that will fit our stock rims but it is shorter. Check thier web site.

Btw, did you ever get your lawn cut?????????? :P
