Long story short, I was looking for a QR code reader in the App Store and inadvertently DL'd a premium app that was also a subscription at $9.99/mo. Some of the fault was likely my inattention, but it was not really clear that it was a chargeable download until I got an email shortly after thanking me for my subscription. I cancelled immediately, but was told I was still liable for the initial month's charge.
Figured what the Hell, I'll call customer support and ask if there was any way to plead my case and get a refund, and lo & behold a very nice woman named Latanya (sp?) looked at my account and said she WOULD be able to reverse the charge.
If she had said no, I would have chalked it up as a learning experience to pay closer attention, but I am grateful she was able to help me out.
Big props to Apple customer support. That's the way it SHOULD be. :D
