Yup . . . after three attempts, I GOT 'EM!

First time around, the service writer said, "Ford said they have to be 'dripping' to qualify for warranty replacement."

Second time around, service writer said, "Ford requires me to photograph any further warranty repairs on your car." Of course, there was no moisture present that particular day and Ford later denied the claim.

Third time around . . . FINALLY, we had a very moist day here in L.A. A little drizzly, high humidity. I went directly to the service MANAGER and asked him to look up the TSB. He looked it up. He found it. He read it carefully. He read the TSB to me, the part about "turning the lights on for ten minutes and see if it goes away." I said, "I just drove in traffic for an hour with my lights on, and there's still moisture there!"

He came out, turned the car on, turned the lights on, looked at the lights for about 10 seconds, and THEN, left to go write the warranty repair work order. So, ONE YEAR AND THREE MONTHS LATER, I finally have the warranty replacement completed on both L and R headlamp assemblies. Although they refused to put in my aftermarket Xenons in, I had to put them in myself later that night at home. After a bit of effort (and a LONG extension), I got the headlamps replaced with some 55W/65W 4100°K 9007 3A Racing Xenons I got at Pep Boys (they said they don't get returns on that brand) and my turn signals replaced with those irridescent blue-silver "Diadem-coated" SilverStar 3157A STs. The 3157s look nice and the 4100°K Xenons give off a nice cool HID-ish blue light.

Thanks, Cruz . . .

Now, I just need to find some H1 Xenons that are about the same color as the 3A Racing 9007s are. Pep Boys didn't have ANY aftermarket H1s at all. Auto Zone had hardly anything either. Anyway, the price was right on the 3A Xenons--$39.99 for the pair. Sure beats the Japanese brands at the ricer superstore at $70 a pair. But, the darn SilverStar 3157A STs were $30 for the pair!!! Pretty pricey for such little lights! Now, I'm also gonna keep a look out for some cool 3156s (cornering lamps) . . . maybe some of those neat LED ones . . .

Out of all the cheapie bulbs I have used over time, the H1 Zenons I purchased from JCWhitney for $9.99 each have by far surpassed my expectations for duration.

I have a habit of driving with my fogs on ALL THE TIME, even during the day. Therefore these bulbs have more hours on them than ANY of the others combined and have yet to fail after 1.5 years.

What's the harm? Pick up a copy of JCWhitney catalogue, find the page for lightbulbs. They sell 4 selections in the H1 catergory....try them, you might like them.

BTW: I removed my diffussers when I put these in to obtain a wider cast of light. I am also using the 100 watt variety of Zenon, and have not had issues of overheating, nor wiring.
