Yup . . . after three attempts, I GOT 'EM!
First time around, the service writer said, "Ford said they have to be 'dripping' to qualify for warranty replacement."
Second time around, service writer said, "Ford requires me to photograph any further warranty repairs on your car." Of course, there was no moisture present that particular day and Ford later denied the claim.
Third time around . . . FINALLY, we had a very moist day here in L.A. A little drizzly, high humidity. I went directly to the service MANAGER and asked him to look up the TSB. He looked it up. He found it. He read it carefully. He read the TSB to me, the part about "turning the lights on for ten minutes and see if it goes away." I said, "I just drove in traffic for an hour with my lights on, and there's still moisture there!"
He came out, turned the car on, turned the lights on, looked at the lights for about 10 seconds, and THEN, left to go write the warranty repair work order. So, ONE YEAR AND THREE MONTHS LATER, I finally have the warranty replacement completed on both L and R headlamp assemblies. Although they refused to put in my aftermarket Xenons in, I had to put them in myself later that night at home. After a bit of effort (and a LONG extension), I got the headlamps replaced with some 55W/65W 4100°K 9007 3A Racing Xenons I got at Pep Boys (they said they don't get returns on that brand) and my turn signals replaced with those irridescent blue-silver "Diadem-coated" SilverStar 3157A STs. The 3157s look nice and the 4100°K Xenons give off a nice cool HID-ish blue light.
