Like most guys, my OEM headlights keep getting yellowed, even after using a restore kit. Aftermarket seems like total junk. I had an idea to fix that.
Is it possible to take the plastic cover off a good set of crown Vic or Grand Marquis and put it on my OEM headlights?

crown vic not same. you need to put UV clear coat on to protect lens from early yellowing

Yes. Swap the lense from a MGM or wet sand yours and clear them with automotive clear coat. They will look new

So, actual clearcoat paint?

I've used this kit on various other cars with pretty good success. Not perfect but it lasts a lot longer than the other kits. This one comes with a clear coat sealer.

I found a set of 03 GM headlights for 150. They look really nice in pictures. I will go see them tomorrow and if they are OEM and in nice shape I may just grab those, take them apart and make them look like marauder lights. This will give me some time to restore mine off the car. In the end I'll put the best set on the car and keep the second set as a spare.

There is a thread somewhere where a Marauder Dad's young son sprayed somethings innocuous on the silver reflector in the Grandmakeys headlight after it had been taken apart... And this innocuous spay (simple green? Wd40?) immediately dissolved the silver coating off the reflector... Showing the black plastic underneath, like the Marauder.
It was my hope some industrious person could "Make" a few sets for sale from new oem GMakeys headlamps.
I would be in for a pair or two.

I removed the Chrome on my gmg housings using simple green, making them marauder like.
Here's a few pics.

I may do just that. If I can make two good sets I may part with one. Will keep you posted.

I started taking apart the first headlight. It would not come apart at 190-220 degrees. Popped right off at 260 degrees in the oven. The rain x 2 in 1 did NOT remove the chrome coating. An engine degreaser did. I sanded and painted the headlights with clear. Waiting for them to dry and I will wetsand again. Here are some progress pics. There is ZERO difference between these and my original headlights except for the chrome piece that I just "fixed"

I hear easy oven works too. Man I know I read that a guy used 2 n 1 and it came right off. Sorry if that inconvenienced you
I had read it here on mm like 2 years ago.
What engine degreaser did you use?
Sorry and thanks

No it's no problem man. I bought it when I read that other thread. Worst case now I have glass cleaner lol. I used POR15 Degreaser I had.

Need to finish sand and polish on my lights. Took one side out, did a small test spot on the header panel and haven't gotten back to it. Whole front end looks mildly sandblasted.
