On Sunday I noticed the driver side headlight on my wife's 2013 Ford Explorer was out. Stopped at O'Reilly Auto Parts and found out they are HID's and a new bulb was $135. Decided to not get a new bulb. When I got home, I removed the rubber boot, rotated the bulb/socket 90 degrees then back and now it works. Any thoughts?

The bulb is a HID D3S for future reference.

I upgraded mine in my 13 MKS from the stock OSRAM to the Osram D3S Cool Blue Boost 7000K Hyper Blue Bulbs (p/n# 66340CBB-HCB), $163 for two bulbs shipped from the UK. Night and day difference, couldn't stand the yellowish color, now they are a nice bright white light plus more lumens output to boot over the stock bulbs.

I might add some dielectric grease to the connector and hope that prevents this in the future.
