Im looking to buy a supercharger around Christmas time and having mixed feeling now. I was always sold on 2.9 whipple especially being that they recently releasted Gen3. On the other hand I been hearing ALOT of buzz about New VMP 2650 on Numerous Mustang site. There saying the VMP will make more torque. Can someone please chime in? What would you prefer? Pro & Cons? This is Serious business im not being an askhole. I DO NOT want to regret decision

You can't go wrong either way having drove CWrights 2.9L Whipple build I know you definetly wouldn't be unhappy with the 2.9L Whipple , the VMP is a beast also but I would go Whipple and never look back.

2650 has everyone selling their old SC's.
I run a TVS so my opinion is bias. The TVS will yield lower IAT's. The quickest 5.0 is running a TVS. The TVS 2650 screw pack design is in a class of its own

Before the advice what are your future goals with the car? Want to race it, if so do you plan on ever utilizing race gas or e85, is it just a street car etc etc.

If you have no plans to Drag Race this is the best option;

Magnusen guy at Power Tour said the 2650 acts like a 4.0 whipple.

I plan to run e85 and was still researching if Crusher upgrade was worth it... Now im starting to lean toward TVS. But would TVS still kick whipple even with crusher upgrade. Im trying to go balls to the wall and squeeze every little HP I can, looking for Modular Head Shop to do some surgery to my heads for extra HP $3-4000 (still researching gain to see if it worth it) or if money can be spent elsewhere

E85 and a 2650 will yield serious numbers.
Wish I had corn available in my state

I would assume stock heads untouched would be able to make north of 800 rwhp. Just turn the boost up.
3-4 grand for head porting and new valves???? Ummm no.

E85 and going for kill I would have to say go with the 2.9. The crusher being worth it is a toss up IMHO.
With that being said, the reliability of an Eaton, it being the torque monster that it is even on pump(although I’ve yet to see any data on the 2.65 on a 4.6L) and the the fact that you can get the blower, GT500 inlet and the throttle body that goes with the inlet for the price of just the 2.9 blower itself (I believe) is a really good selling point.
Not to mention the blower does hold its own just fine to a certain extent (and the extent is for those that are going completely in when it comes to having all the boost) anything under that and I think most would be extremely happy with a 2.65 and E85.
Bypass the head work especially at that price, I would recommend one spend that money on some fuel upgrades which you are going to need for E85 anyways, injectors, fuel pumps, wheels to put the power down etc etc.
Edit. Seems the 2.65 actually starts at $4k that make it a harder choice.

If you are going all out and get the whipple, get the crusher with it.
The torque numbers are down on the 2650 from the 2300 blowers from a couple cars that have numbers from the 2650. Would have to dig up some 2.9 graphs to compare with the 2650.

BTW I order Diamond piston 5cc Manley rods and and forged Eagle crank, teskid 0.20 over...think im going with Stainless works exhaust 2.5 or 3"...which ever is better... So which every charger will do... I really have to find out if 2.65 TVS will need alot of modifying to fit in Marauder.

I'm no expert but I would put the TVS 2.65 anytime plus I think it's bolt right on place of eaton.

This is great! I'd recommend billet rear control arms. Widen rear wheels to 9.5" and get 305/45R18 drag radials. A return style fuel system with 2 big pumps. 80lb injectors or bigger. Other guys that have gone down this path can give more detailed recommendations. Good luck!!!
