I am always a fan of big American horsepower, so I thought this was interesting:

Mopar is launching a supercharged Hemi Crate Engine with 1,000 HP, 950 LB-FT Torque known as the Hellephant for early 2019. Apparently it's all plug and play.

They just keep getting more and more powerful.

I'm holding out for the 2,000 HP version. Then trade that in for the 3,000 HP version a few years later.

Dodge swaps are tricky. A plug a play set up is much needed.

Waiting for an updated 300... With Hellcat, and all other goodies.

Or Ford to build the 4 door voodoo mustang, and call it a Marauder or Galaxie.

426 cubes, 3.0L TS blower and an Aluminum block too!
Dodge has built one Helluva crate motor!!

Also, glad to see that they are taking some weight out of their stuff. (Their cars are serious porkers.)

:hmmm:
Wonder what that will sell for?

I wish FRPP would offer a BOSS 521 crate motor complete with a TS blower, modern port FI, and computer/harness.

I heard that the tentative asking price for just the Hellephant engine alone without the accompanying electronics will be $19,500.00. I wouldn’t be surprised if they jack up the price by 2019 if demand is high.

I believe that is just the current Hellcat crate engine minus electronics.

My guess is $27,000 complete.

 ....Yikes!

Glad I'm not a Mopar guy!
For that kind of coin, I'll stick to a Gen3 Coyote crate engine for $7,850 and have close to $20 grand for big brakes, transmission, wheels, computer/harness and a blower.

Granted it won't make 1,000 HP...
but getting 950 Ft-Lbs to hook would be difficult.

It took much research, but with a compatible engine harness to the PCM, and the right definition file - my 6.4 crate swapped into the 5.7 spot like a 1968 302 vs a 289 ;)
Including the active runner intake working :D

But, why did they give the SEMA demo to the faag Mark Werman? All he does is correct restorations, right?
