I just located a Teksid engine, complete, 73,000 miles, with transmission. Pulled and loaded into my truck.
Maybe Ill have a forged engine built by May..... 2020

I have the same scrap yard looking for an MMC driveshaft while we are at it.

I am on borrowed time with 120,000 miles on the OEM engnie and Trilogy since 2010. OEM transmission is slipping and not too happy with the 433 RW HP.

After two cervical spine surgeries and the loss of my Son, its time to put something in the happy column.

I just got a CC nemak block from 2008 and some DC heads, I am excited to have a twin turbo beast in the same time frame.

best of luck with your cool find!!!

$550. I'm sure it will take a lot more to get it where I want it. Always looking for help, and a deal.

Yeah, but you are still JACK!

The loss of our Son really knocked us all down. It's pretty unbearable most days.

Borrowed time with 120k??? I could understand the transmission slipping but I have 211k on my trilogy. im going to tear it apart in the next few weeks to do timing chains, tensioner, and guides, but it’s still operating as it should.

Yep.^

Mine had 91,000 when I removed it to upgrade. Insides were still bright shiny aluminum!

Joe,

So sad to hear of your loss. Been almost three years for me, and the gaping hole in my life is still present.

Makes me cry to post it, but here is a picture of my pride and joy sitting in my Marauder, near Little Rock, during our first cross country Marauder trip. Thankfully, We both took the time to have two good (partial) cross country Marauder trips.

All the best to you in your families recovery. You are right that small victories are due, and we have got to create them when we can. Anything I can do, we can do to help let us know.

Yeah, presently, my engine is just fine. I'm not worried about as it sits. Loves 1/4 mile runs and narry a hiccup. No preignition, no issues. oil clean at 3,000 mile changes.

I am looking to head north of 650 HP. These damn Hellcats & Demons need some Mercury competition. I'm not sure I'll get there, but I sure am going to try.

I may have to go from Trilogy to Whipple. I may have to add NO2. I may have to remove my passenger and rear seats..... Hence the teksid and searching for a forged crank.

I'll definitely need wrinkle wall slicks!

700hp TT is a snap with a built motor :)

now that you mention is I would prefer a marauder done up than a hellcat charger.

Big difference with a 6.2 liter and blower at 700 + hp and a 4.6 liter and blower at 700 hp, I would imagine one becomes less daily driver ish

I got a ride in a hellcat, made my 03 cobra feel like a toy car.. lol
Good luck on your 650hp goal, I was in the 600s club for 500 miles lol..

What happened at the 500 mile mark!??

Uh oh.... That does not sound good.

Sourced some ModMax forged crank, pistons and rods. King Bearings, Melling oil pump, Arp bolts (God they are expensive!) Billet Flywheel for the 8 bolt crank.

Considering Stroking to 302 CID. No extra cost, just different parts. Adds .207" to the stroke and .020 to the bore. Not real sure what the gain (or loss might be). Will shoot for 9.0:1 CR.

I'm sure all this has been done before. The Twin Turbo comment, Oh yeah! I wonder if anyone has a setup they need to get rid of. I'm not putting myself through that process from scratch.

Anybody ever put lake pipes on their Marauder??

IIRC member Tom Doan had Nascar style side pipes on his Marauder!

What happened at the 500 mile mark!??

A used connecting rod failed, they were checked by my machine shop, and given a good bill of health, bent the rod end at the crank, and spun the bearing, literally 15 minutes later my freddy brown "race" transmission lost 3rd and 4th.. the story goes on..

comming from multiple turbo setups from my talons the thought of turbo setups being a "hassle" is lost on me, I have always viewed them as a requirement of sorts :P

I take my experience with turbos for granted perhaps. i understand space is an issue.

After seeing Senecas crossmember cutout I got to thinking ....

I wanted to do a custom center console for the manual swap and place the relocated battery box under the arm rest to keep the weight in the middle and if i need to jump the car I can do it with my Halo from the drivers seat....

what rods are you considering for replacement?

I have a set of molnar power adder rods I'm going to replace them with, I'm anxious to see your turbo build, be sure and start a build thread, my car was the 1st one I ever did, mostly all mig welded, I have done a 2nd car since then for someone else, that was all tig welded and back purged the way it should be, that one has roughly 15k miles single turbo setup

I cheated on mine lol, went the "cheap" route to my goal. I've been right around the hellcat mark with mine at the track. I think with improved tuning and stepping down from 4.10s to 3.55s I might be there. It sure is fun beating the unsuspecting camaro, srt8, and coyote Mustang guys at the strip.

I look forward to seeing updates on your quest.

i think its the k member?

instead of going with two half moon grooves for exhaust clearance I want to cut two holes right through with two thick aluminum tubes welded in for strength with plates on the top and bottom for added support. the sleeves need to match the sizing of the exhaust because i want the peice to act in part as a heatsink for the exhaust to assist in cooling.

From what I can remember you'll be very hard pressed to get a enclosed hole thru it, also the steering rack is directly above those cuts. So close that I added head shields

Got the Teksid engine. Anyone need B heads to work on?

Getting ready to pull heads off and get a look at the bores. Problem is, it's -9 here in Bufffalo, and three feet of snow. No heat in the garage, so it can wait a bit.

Sourcing heads now.

Any one with a good used forged crank?

And, thoughts on just .020 over or add a stroker crank to get 302 CID?

Getting the block stripped. Harmonic balancer is being a pip. I have been giving it a couple clicks a day. Maybe its frozen. 20 degrees here and wind is straight out of the North, blowing directly into my garage. BRRRRRR.

Where do I find the appropriate timing cover? I am leaving my OEM engine stock and whole. Picking up heads this weekend.

And, who is providing a good race transmission? I have a core ready to swap out for one ready to go.

The 2C5E-6C064-DB head came out for '04 and had nine plug threads.

Note the last two letters. I am actually in search of DC heads, but they are hard to find.

One DB and on DC head acquired. Still need to tear everything down. This sux having to buy four cams, 32 valves, springs and so on. Trying to get the bare heads and block into shop for hot tank and checked out.

75 MPH winds and 20 degrees is no time to work in an unheated garage. I hate winter!

Anyone have a good forged crank available?

I agree, everything has been on hold until the weather breaks for me.

I know what you mean drag city about the springs and valves but its part of what makes these engines great.

I have also wanted to do my own heads so before i even get to springs and vavles i am trying to locate the tools and machines to do seats, guides, porting.... spring tester....

gee golly... It will be worth it though. all the little details pay off.

I was trying to figure out how to get a matched spring rate set of springs without having to buy 10 sets....
