View Full Version : Not watching Super Bowl

After witnessing some of the most horrific officiating ever in yesterday's 2 Championship games...I have absolutely no intentions of watching the upcoming Snoozer Bowl.

I'm in no way, shape or form a Saints fan...but I feel so bad for the team.
Incredibly poor 'no call' robs them of a SuperBowl appearance.
Worst mugging of a receiver that I've ever seen...:shake:
Robey Coleman had multiple obvious pass interference plays during the game...but the refs were 'blind'.

And, of course, Tom Brady....who I do hate.
Gets yet another phantom "roughing the passer" call that saves the Patriots.... again!
If the Patriots didn't play in such a sad sack Division we wouldn't have been forced to watch them in half of their SuperBowl appearances.
I'd love to have the NFL make the Patriots play in the AFC North!

I hope that the ratings suck for this year's SuperBowl and the NFL takes a bath on it.

There.....rant over.

As much as I like seeing the "hometown team" win, the Super Bowl is one of the most over-hyped over-priced boring wastes of time of any professional sport. I'd rather watch chess.

P.S. Go Pats!

GOODBYE NFL!!

Who is supposed to be the halftime entertainment?

BTW: I view the NFL much like NASCAR....
Huge growth and popularity,
then stupid decisions, overpricing,
and an inconsistent, boring product leads to a rapidly declining fan base and viewership.

These threads remind me why I love not being into sports ball.

I am not a huge football guy but this year the Chief's were a lot of fun to watch. Some of the calls were horrible. Game changing horrible. But it is what it is. The roughing the passer call was just ridiculous. With that being said I feel worse for the Saint's. That missed call was so so so bad. I say the Chief's and Saint's play a game somewhere else during the stupidbowl!

I mean, I’ll be watching :P

Since I was 10 years old to now (27) I will have watched the Patriots play in 9 SBs, life is tough!

The "problem" wit the NFL is their Business Model to support their cost structure requires TV ratings that can only be obtained by making everyone "happy".

When you try to make everyone "happy" you end up making everybody MAD!

Yeah, I am MAD.:mad2:

I heard on a sports talk show that an official will often warn players that line up in the neutral zone and receivers check all the time: but oh, no; not Dee Ford when the official that threw the flag is on the Patriots' sideline. Brady threw a high, hard pass that was deflected and the much maligned Chiefs' defense made a play that should have put them in the Super Bowl. All replays favored Pats and Brady gets breathed on and the official who had a bad angle on the play throws a flag. Such is the continuing fate of the Kansas City Chiefs. I won't be watching the Stupor Bowl.

Yep!
Game was over and done...won by the Chiefs
.....except for that pesky neutral zone infraction....:mad2:
NFL obviously wants the Patriots in the SuperBowl every year....not sure that's such a great idea....:snore:

Glad that I'll be missing that halftime show.
As Bugs Bunny would say:
"What a maroon!"

Ah Ha ha!

13-3....what a snooze fest!
Glad that I didn't waste an evening watching that NFL mess.
How crappy were the commercials and the halftime show?

The real SuperBowl would've been a blast to watch.
I'm guessing Saints 42 - Chiefs 38.

Only good thing happening were the people with '3 & 3' in the $$$ pools!

The HIGHLIGHT of the entire production was Gladys Knight singing our National Anthem but she even looked a bit uneasy Joe!!:shake::confused:

We turned it OFF when Levine & Co. burned our ears and retinas!!

The NFL is D-E-A-D unless they make some major changes!!

Started going down after the 'No smearing the kicker/punter rules' It's football, you get paid a crap load of money and are on the field minimally, toughen up cupcake. Now with the basically 'No smearing the QB rules we have senior citizens still playing position. Time to get back to the days of proximity makes you a legit target.

My interest in the NFL has seriously waned over the last 5 years...and now after this year's multiple fiascos, I have NO interest in watching any future NFL games.
I've got to thank the NFL for making it so easy to go 'cold turkey' on Pro football.

No....actually, I'll watch any game during which Bill Belichick wears a sport coat!......:D

I stopped watching after Da Bears won the 1985 Superbowl. Looks like all I missed was some kneeling, slobbering and a lot of whining.

I've not really followed for some time. I did watch the Colts though when they won (I was invited to a Super Bowl party where I was the only guest who showed up - awkward). And I was mandatory at my wife's friends super bowl party this last Sunday (what a boring game). Not real happy about the kneeling thing so didn't really care to see that but I stopped watching generally way before that. Never really understood why we idolize those (jocks) that were not kind to the rest of us non-athletically inclined folks in our youthful years. So I was never really all that interested.

I met Payton and the Frig back in the day. Nice guys. I also met "Mama's Boy Otis" Wilson and he was a complete jackass. I think Otis is the new NFL. Don't care to support their spoiled, #metoo attitudes.

The NFL got hosed!
Worst SuperBowl ratings in 10 years!
Patriots.....again....:snore:
vs. the new LA Rams.
Nobody in LA gives a $h*t about football and there are only so many people in Taxachusetts.
Record low ratings in New Orleans....I wonder why?
