Quick write up about it in the latest Car & Driver magazine. Power numbers are estimates, but sound impressive.

I'd bet that FORD Motorsports will offer it as a crate engine, especially because it doesn't have the 'only to be installed in a GT350' flat crank.

You know, to work out any kinks before these are released into the world and more importantly before the premium priced 2021 standard trans version debuts..

The other problem with the Auto trans is the lame shifter 'dial'....looks like the plastic one in my Fusion Sport. I hate the stupid thing!

I hate the shifter dial thing in general. When did society become too lazy to move a shift lever?!

This right here! Push button starts, shifter dial, etc. I like the visceral feeling of turning a key and hearing my engine start and shifting with a real stick shift is all part of the driving experience.

Can't for the life of me remember what kind of car it was though. Must have been British or Italian. He had Volvo's as well, but push button start seems to exotic for Sweden.
I too think the GT 500 should offer a stick. It should be no more than 5 speeds though, any more is just silly.
I like the visceral feeling of turning a key and hearing my engine start and shifting with a real stick shift is all part of the driving experience.
Me too, but we are the exception, not the rule.

In reference to Mr. Man mentioning his memory of a push button start, my earliest memories of being in a car include what I didn't know at the time was a 1951 Chevy 2 door Fleetline. I recall how a key would be put in to the ignition then a seperate button was pressed to energize the starter. I also had an uncle with a Chevy truck of similar vintage but required a pedal on the floor to be pressed for starer operation. Miss those machines.
But if you gonna be exotic, why not a have a pull-start action like a 2 stroke near the hand brake?

It doesn’t bother me so much, the point of the GT500 is to be brash, loud, and in your face I’m sure.

I hate to say to but I like the 13/14' GT500 better so far... I like the solid axle and I like the option for a manual transmission. I'm also not a big fan of the wing on the back of the new GT500. I wish they would just make the GT350 a track car (like it is now) and make the GT500 all about straight line performance. I hope this is enough to be direct competition with the likes of a Hellcat Redeye or a Demon. I know we have the Cobra jet but that's still a little different.

I think it looks better than the GT350 and soon no one will remember the GT350...
who's to say they just may phase it out, me I'm glad they finally did a dual clutch auto, although I would have like it if they offered a 6R680 back in 2011 up as an option, I think they would have sold a lot more Shelby's.

When it goes on sale this fall, the GT500 will be the most powerful street-legal Ford ever, with more than 700 horsepower under its hood. Featuring a supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 mated with a first-in-its-class seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, Ford says the GT500 will be able to hit 60 mph in less than three seconds and turn the quarter-mile in less than eleven seconds. The all-aluminum V-8 is built by hand, with cylinder heads optimized for maximum airflow, larger forged connecting rods, and internal passages improved for better lubrication and cooling. A Roots-type supercharger with 2.65-liters of volume features an air-to-liquid intercooler. A carbon-fiber driveshaft routes all that power to the rear wheels; the dual-clutch transmission is capable of changing gears in less than 100 milliseconds. There are several selectable drive modes, including normal, weather, sport, drag and track, and activates features such as line-lock and launch control.
When it comes to ride, handling, and braking, the GT500 boasts active MagneRide along with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires with unique compound and tread. Stopping power is provided by Brembo, with 16.5-inch two-piece rotors and six-piston calipers. There are two handling packages: the Handling Package includes adjustable strut top mounts and a spoiler with a Gurney flap; the Carbon Fiber Track Package features exposed 20-inch carbon-fiber wheels shod with Michelin Sport Cup 2 tires, an adjustable carbon-fiber track wing, and splitter wickers with an integrated dive plane. The rear seat is deleted to save weight.
On the interior, the cockpit features an available exposed carbon-fiber instrument-panel appliqué and door panels in faux suede with accent stitching. Optional Recaro racing seats with ample side bolsters and pass-throughs for safety harnesses offer maximum grip. To top it all off, there's a 12-inch full-color LCD instrument cluster as well as an optional 12-speaker B&O audio system with an 8.0-inch touchscreen powered by Sync 3.

Hoping the GT350 sticks around. In agreement otherwise.
