I went to Big O Tires to get an alignment and have the Addco rear sway bar put on. All was good until I was driving home south on I680 and all of a sudden I get a air suspension light, the car starts running different, acceleration is sluggish and then not at all. Then the car stalled and I coasted it to the side. Car wouldn't start. First I thought maybe Big O didn't do something right and the sway bar came loose and did damage or something. Tow truck driver disagrees and said it was probably clogged fuel filter or bad fuel pump. Sound about right? Thoughts?

Unless they damaged the fuel pump harness....how many miles are on it...

The air ride has nothing to do with the fuel pump.

From what I have had to deal with on other customers cars is the ground strap to the passenger fender is missing or loose that would cause the air ride to work. Loose ground connection will also cause other issues. Check to see if they re-tightened the negative clamp on your battery

I turned the key this morning and there is no fuel pump whine. My code reader gives the code P1237.

Bang on tank. See if the pump starts working.

Might be fuel pump driver module fuse or fuel pump

Might be bad ground under the hood too, did you read my previous post?

It was the fuel pump which I had replaced.

I'm still having the air suspension light coming on after driving for about 30 minutes then it stays on. When I shut down the car, the light goes off and stays off when I restart, hear the air pump immediately come on, but the air suspension light comes back on in 30 minutes. How hard is it to replace the air pump?

It's not too bad you have to remove the air filter box if it's stock it's underneath that. There's 3 bolts that hold it down that you have to get to underneath the fender liner, electrical plug & air line have to be disconnected.

Looks like OEM air pump has been discontinued and has long now been made of unobtainium. Arnott I only see Grand Marquis Listed. But do see Suncore and Westar brands. Which is better?

Put an Arnott p2936 in mine after the factory one crapped out. Been about 1 1/2 yrs now & 12k miles no problems.

Thanks, I was able to find the cheapest Arnott on Amazon so made the order. I'm going to get some air springs also since they are probably also shot after 180,600 miles.

Got the air compressor. Was supposed to be Arnott or so it said on Amazon but looks like another brand when it arrived. Oh well. I'll give it a try.

I replaced my 275k mile factory springs cause they were weather checked. Still worked fine tho. Used the standard Grand Marquis/Town Car version because i heard the Marauder/Limo version gave a harsh ride. I'm very happy with the result.
