Just took delivery yesterday of my 4th Ranger since 1988. My goodness, has it ever matured! Turned off the 'auto start-stop' on the way home yesterday. Started my trial subscriptions to SiriusXM and AT&T Car Connect. iPhone set up for Apple Play, Synch3 set up for auto updates whenever in range of my home WiFi, tinkered with various settings-preferences. The 10 speaker B&O Play audio system is impressive. Still have much to learn. My '06 trade had under 45k miles and was in remarkably good condition.

Nice! Way bigger than the older Rangers, I can see that thing getting airborne over some dunes on the NC coast already! Baja bomber!

North American Rangers are only available with the 2.3L Ecoboost 4 - 10 speed auto transmission. Don't let it fool you as it has 'Best in Class' fuel economy, acceleration, towing capacity, etc. Keep in mind this current Ranger was introduced to 'global markets' in 2015.

Nice Ranger!!
(So is the one that you traded in!)

They do look sweet and I like the Turbo 2.3...especially with the 10 speed auto!

I have been thinking about buying a new 2019 Ranger as my '99 XLT has 315,000+ miles on it and the 3.sl0w V6 started running on 5 cylinders a few months ago.
I was done trying to fix the original very high mile engine, especially with low compression on 1 cylinder.
It's been parked waiting for me to swap in a parts yard 92,000 mile complete drivetrain (including all the front dress) that I snagged for $1,000.

I keep 'building' a new Ranger on the FORD website then realize that I'm up to $35,000 for a 2WD XLT Ranger.....

I'll put up with my 3.sl0w Ranger for another year or so!

The image of my trade coming out of the cleanup shop after the most recent service is just over a week old. Great angle but it needed a hood-roof repaint along with the bed floor replaced due to rust preforation.

A fully loaded Lariat can conceivably list for $46k+ - mine listed for $43.5. Deep discounts and generous trades to move them off of the floor as sales 'resistance' has been strong. Still had to finance it and received 5.9% despite a 600 credit score (no recent credit history). I'll probably pay it off in half of the term. Looking at splash guards and locking lugs.

Keep us informed of your progress with your '99 Ranger. Did you buy it new?

Bought it used in 2009 with 71,000 miles on it for $6,800.
It's been hard work trying to kill this thing...
But it just won't die!....lol.

You've been blessed. Rangers are sturdy, well designed, well built trucks - kudos to Ford Motor Company.

Thanks for this. My ’06 has 40k miles and will get its first brand new tires this week. Can’t justify $46k for a 2019 fully loaded 4WD Ranger Lariat Eco Boost 2.3L. I’ll spend some coin on my present truck first.
Mine appears identical except I have the chrome step bar.
Did you win the Lotto?

As much as I like the older Rangers, I see this newer style taking quite awhile to get used to the Nissan type looks for me.

I’m sure I’d like it if I drove it?

And my God, mid 40’s for a Ranger?? No thanks.

The Platinum White Triple Coat Exterior and Medium Stone leather interior won me over (close copy of the Light Flint in my Marauder). This is the first new Ranger I was able to go through with a complicit/willing salesperson. $32k and my trade was a reasonable deal IMO. I'm pleased.

I agree Bob......today's vehicle prices are NUTZ!!:mad2:

I almost had a stroke when I paid $28,500.00 for my Marauder.......still the most I've ever paid for a vehicle but the most fun I've ever had with my clothes on!!

Nice truck but like the Colorado - INSANELY overpriced! For very little more one can have a real nicely outfitted F150 (whi\ch is INSANELY overpriced too). Just my :twocents:

Enjoy the new toy! :D

Price a Raptor...... no private cash offers, no discounts, some dealers will split the hold back $$$, 3-5k off max on a 70-75k truck.

Ranger Raptor is only available presently in overseas markets, and with a twin turbo 2.0L diesel. Link is over a year old.

No Ranger Raptor announced for the North American market yet but Hennessy is offering a Raptor wannabe with the Ecoboost powertrain tuned to 360 hp.

I said that too, till I drove one...................450 hp, 512 tq

2020 is supposed to get the 5.2 S/C motor from the GT350 in it, for another 15k sticker, which means 25k more with dealer markups.
