yeah I'll believe it when I see it. These cars are dirt freaking cheap right now and I do not expect that to rebound. Clean Gen 1 L's are going to appreciate because OBS Ford trucks are going for strong money and old trucks in general are appreciating.

The G8 GXP's especially w/ a manual are already worth strong money.

If the Marauder is ever going to appreciate, a few clean low mile examples need to sell in an auction setting (like BaT) for a very strong price and get the attention of others. That's what happened with the Porsche 928, a few sold for strong prices and all of a sudden, every week for 3 years straight a 928 was on BaT selling for a lot more money than they were ever worth before. BMW E39 M5's have had a sharp increase in price over the past 5 years, a sub 1k mile example sold at auction last year for 183 grand. Did Jerry Barnes ever sell that 89 mile 03A Marauder that was put back together? If he cracked 30 grand maybe we have a chance in hell.

I think its just too soon. Im a supercoupe enthusiast and its only been in the past 6 months that they have only began to increase in value and they were released in 1988 for the 1989 model year being they are 30 years old now.

I think the gen-4 Marauder has a very good reason to appreciate in value in the not too distant future. It has one very strong incentive going for it, and that's the fact that it is a very unique and specialized performance car with very special parts on it, AND there's no Ford equivalent. I think that last part, that there's no Crown Vic like it, is the thing that is most likely to increase the value over time. I don't believe that the rarity of the car will have much impact on the value for the same reason old Marauders still don't bring a ton of money. They are rare because folks back in the day didn't want them, and unfortunately that hasn't changed much. I think it will be the same for the gen-4 cars. Only a small group of hard core fans will want them for the Marauder factor, but a larger group may want them for the unique car factor. Only time will tell.

I'm currently considering to replace my Marauders with either a G8 GXP or a Chevy SS but already can't find affordable examples with a manual.

I don't see any of the car gaining any value. all I've is seen is a decrease in the last 2 years. in fact I see several for sale for cheap and they still haven't sold. even supercharged example still aren't selling. there's a Trilogy that I know for of for sale 8k still hasn't sold. that tells me the market for the Marauders has just about Flatline. I think with the new Hellcat and the new SUVs coming with 600 ft lb of torque like the Lincoln Aviator and so forth. a plain Marauder just isn't exciting anymore. they're slow and everybody knows it now. I'm not knocking the car I love them myself, but I see the fan base fading away. several members on this form have even sold their cars lately. just think times are changing people moving on. And as far as the future goes the parts are impossible to find as it is now. what are you going to do if you bought one you can't restore it if you can't get the original parts to restore it to original Factory. so I just don't see an aftermarket or future for the marauder. unfortunately looks like the dinosaurs in my opinion dying off. unless somebody starts producing the rare Parts like the bumper covers interior parts things like that and I don't see that happen.

I think that clean, low mile, unmodified Marauders will bring pretty good money in the future.
There just aren't that many left, and the collectors will come looking in a few years.
Having said that; I had to modify my (now sold) Marauder because it was too friggin' slow!
Especially with the mean looking 18" rims, grille & headlights, exhaust and 'rake'.
A low 15 sec. sedan is a DOG, especially with what is prowling the roads today.....:eek:

Interesting list. The Lightning is a cool vehicle, but I haven't seen many reasonable examples for sale. Some of the others would represent a major maintenance cost.
