"DETROIT (AP) — THE MOST powerful street-legal Ford Mustang ever built will go on sale this fall.
A 5.2-liter supercharged V8 will crank out 760 horsepower in the 2020 Shelby GT500.
The new version has a beefed-up suspension and brakes. It also has a seven-speed automatic transmission that Ford promises will shift smoothly on commutes and quickly on the track. The engine is hand-built at a Michigan factory and comes with unique pistons and other parts. It can crank out 625 foot-pounds of torque, a measure of rotational force.".

Wish i could afford that baby! Go Baby Go!
Sailsmen, I'm pretty sure you've got that HP and TQ covered in your beast! Can't wait to see the final tally and pics! I may need to travel up to see your Marauder before they ship/you drive it out of there! Your car is going to be a serious tourist attraction!

A 5.2-liter supercharged V8 will crank out 760 horsepower in the 2020 Shelby GT500.
The new version has a beefed-up suspension and brakes. It also has a seven-speed lame automatic transmission controlled by a goofy rotary dial that Ford promises will shift smoothly on commutes and quickly on the track. The engine is hand-built at a Michigan factory and comes with unique pistons and other parts. It can crank out 625 foot-pounds of torque, a measure of rotational force."....
and FORD stealerships will be raping GT500 buyers for $10,000 to $25,000 ADP.....making it a ridiculously expensive 100,000 dollar Mustang!!

100k $ plus mustang. Smdh.
If they were going to make it an automatic I’m surprised they didn’t put the same 10 speed that’s behind their eco boosts.

Problem: How many suckers are going to lay down 100 large for a kinda ugly, automatic transmission 2020 Shelby GT500??
Solution: Buy a low mile 2014 Shelby GT500 for $45,000, drop $20,000 into exhaust, blower upgrade, tune, tires and suspension.
End up with a 1,000 HP, 6 speed, best looking modern Shelby Mustang and have $35,000 left for insurance and gas!

I believe that I read a $60k Monroney for a base GT500... as much as I bleed Ford Blue, I think I might be tempted to at least take a test drive in a 2020 Corvette for similar money....
But, we'll likely never see either car offered for sale at Monroney price. :(

I’m not going to pretend that I was in the Market for a GT500 regardless, but the lack of a manual is a total killer to me.

Yep, couldn't agree more.
A "performance" model should always offer a manual transmission, even if it is offered as an option.
(which is a$$ backward from the way it should be)
I know someone will jump in and point out that the new Automatics are far quicker and superior to a manual transmission, but unless it is a dedicated race car where every millisecond counts, I want to shift/control the car myself via a nice leather booted shifter in the center console.
