I went to pick up some 2 cycle oil, opened the trunk to put it in, closed the trunk. All of a sudden I here a boom sound, kind of like an explosion sound in my trunk. I go to hit the trunk release button inside the car nothing, I then put the key in to open the trunk and I have to lift it up like I am Hercules. It looks like 2 brackets are hanging down on each side of the mechanism that makes the trunk go up.

Before posting I looked up anyone that has this issue here, and nothing came up. I do notice when the car is parked there is strange noises coming from the rear of the car. I was so glad the car started and on the way home cause I was shaking like a leaf in a bad storm driving, my foot was the thing that was shaking. I thought I was gonna brake the gas peddle.

No check engine lights at this time.

Did you break one of the torsion bars? Post a pic of the proposed broken part.

Sounds like the torsion springs or the mounts let loose.

This thread answered my questions, thankfully this did not happen when I was driving, thanks for everyone that replied to this thread.

There is supposed to be a rubber hose on one of the bars where they meet in the middle.

The corpse in the trunk wasn’t quite dead?
