Funky Door Latch

So, I've got myself this '95 Caprice former FD car. Seems to have some trouble with keeping the front passenger door shut. The striker seems to move without any trouble, but when closed it won't stay in the latched position, as though someone is constantly holding the door handle in the open position. Anyone have any experience with this on these cars? I'd like to avoid spending $160 on a replacement latch if possible. I've tried checking out some of the Caprice/Impala/B Body forums, but they seem rather dead.

Never mind on all of this. I guess I just needed to ply it with more WD-40 than I did at first. Eventually worked the mechanisms loose and it's all ok now. This can probably be deleted, I'd do it if I could.

Sounds like a mostly typical Ford issue. And lubricating Fords don’t usually work that well..
