Bummer. My first 'car dealer job' was at 16yo working afternoon shift at a local Ford dealer while I attended high school on a morning schedule split shift (junior and senior years). Seemed to do whatever needed to be done - great memories (1972-1973).

A Ford dealership in Tigard, Oregon called Landmark Ford has paid $27,000 to settle allegations levied against it by the U.S. Department of Labor. The allegations were that Landmark Ford had violated child labor laws with jobs that it had given two teenage employees. According to the investigators, Landmark Ford employed a 16-year-old and 17-year-old as lot attendants.

Thanks. It took several attempts to even get the thread to post this morning.

What a joke. 16 and 17 year olds nowadays need to be toughened up and taken off the tit. Keep raising age limits and pampering/protecting the kids and this will be one very soft America!

Jeez, the kids were just 'surfing' in the pickup's bed (while the driver tries to plant you on your ass by alternately going WOT and stabbing the brakes)...been there, done that!
What do you expect when you hire 16 year olds to move around new cars & trucks!....?
Obviously the kid who banged his head on the tailgate underestimated the power of a new 3.5L Ecoboost!
