A Proper Panther Intercooler Tank: Prototype Inside

During my travels on Hot Rod Drag Week 2019, I was discussing with my friend and co-driver about how I'd love a real tig welded aluminum IC tank that can double as an ice box and accept some larger lines as I'm planning on redoing my intercooler system when the next engine goes in. We bounced ideas off each other and after drag week, he worked with his fabricator to come up with a prototype tank.

He's looking to sell a minimum of 10 tanks, anyone interested in some extra coolant capacity for the IC system?

Specs:

Choice of -16an or -12an fittings (tank bung is -16an)
4" clear lid
ARP mounting hardware included

Polished: $479.95
Powdercoated (wrinkle black): $469.95

Note: I'm not here to collect orders or take money, just looking for feedback

Looks nice! Needs a drain if you wanna keep packing ice at the track. I suggest not all the way at the bottom as to keep a prime to the pump.

That was on my mind the other night and certainly something that can be added to the final product. I'll bring this up with the project lead.

If there wasn't impending economic doom I'd definitely consider it. probably go as far as showing my mechanic and asking if it was worth it for the build we're doing

When installed does the tank rest on the inner fender or is there a bumper on the tank? What supports the weight of the filled tank?

you drill one small hole thru the liner and bolt through, that bolt also has a spacer on it so its not rubbing the inner fender.

that tank you see in the photos is the prototype. I've already test fit it to my daily driver to make sure it clears lines and the hood.

I wasn't going to install it into my other car simply because I don't own it. The inlet and outlet are in the same locations as the stock cobra style tank we all use, it's two bolts and two hoses to install. Not really much to test here, allows for more capacity, larger lines if you're running an upgraded intercooler system, and a drain at the bottom so it can be packed with ice at the track.

Chris is making a small batch, the larger group buy when he posted about it on facebook resulted in a bunch of crown vic owners saying they couldn't afford to buy this and pay their car note on their 15 year old P71's.

I haven't talked to him directly about it in a few weeks after telling him I still want one (life etc...) I'd shoot him a message thru the adtr facebook page and ask about it if you'd like one. As far as I know from about a month ago, they will be produced just not to the scale he was initially planning.

At least they were honest about being Po' ass broke.....instead of excitedly getting in on a group buy, then ghosting the guy who made too many when it came time to pony up the money.

its part of the options so its not really "extra", its either powder coated or polished.
