MLB officials taking a voluntary pay cut

How are they going to survive?? With an estimated $11 million/year contract, that only leaves the Commissioner $7,150,000.00 to get by on! I know they don’t have to do that, but sure beats unemployment considering they aren’t exactly doing anything anyways.. I hate sports.

This could put a crimp on the 'poor' players.....imagine having to come up with the monthly mortgage payment for your $17 million dollar mansion!
And then there's the new Porsche, Maybach, Ferrari, and Buggatti payments!!!
Plus the chefs, maids, nannies, lawn maintenance crew, pool cleaners, fleet/garage mechanics, barber & hairdresser, personal trainers, A/V sound system techs can't be laid off.... they're essential!, you have to pay them.

Oh Gosh! I hope that the players can make it through this!!

I can't wait to go to a game once they start playing again and pay $75 for a seat, $25 to park, $14 for a beer, $12 for a hotdog, and $10 for a bag of peanuts.

And here I figured I’d get flamed for speaking my mind?

It was indeed a great gesture to insure others would keep their jobs at least until the end of May. (When they are hoping things will begin to start up and they can keep working) They certainly didn’t have to do it. And yes, their bills are worlds away from mine (rightfully so, they earned it)and they’ll feel it even if slightly.

BUT. When you aren’t doing squat what kind of a person would still expect a full ride while watching the ones you depend on suffer? That likely wouldn’t yield the best scenario in relations at work in the future.

I guess my real problem is just the constant flow of normal paychecks getting dished out to people when something such as this happens? You would think there would be some sort of clause in the contract for the Kung Flu seeing as though it’s not the first virus to be gifted to us!

The organization is losing money hand over fist not just from park fees but also from no commercials and apparel etc, now add on all the contracts? I’m a proud union member as we are one the very few that never makes headlines and certainly would never expect to get paid for no work! But this sounds like one of the worst union stories I’ve ever heard of? I’m not going to pretend I know their inner workings but from the outside looking in it wreaks of greed.

Hopefully I’m wrong on all counts?
