Hey all. i now drive a 98 mustang gt vert. she has been reliable but cramped. Saw a MM (black 03) on a used car lot the other day and have a couple of basic questions.
BTW i loved the ride and confortable as hell
They cum with 3.55 limited slip right? So there is no need to turn a traction control off when i need to play?
Second i want ot keep the MM stock but with nitrous. i have a kit in the garage. 10.1 compression is high for nitrous but not unreasonalbe. What is the motor like? As far as materials, internals and such. i dont want something rediculus 75 or mayby a 100 shot at the max. it will be a dry kit so i can pull if off easy to return for warranty work.
If somone is using a dry setup like i would please chime in quckly. i talked to them and got a decent price on the car with a good price on my trade.
thanks

Chris: If it's an older 300A '03, then you don't have TC. Later '03 models, 300B, came with TC. Was there a TC switch by the switch to move the pedals? The car has 3.55 limited slip regardless of TC or not.
As for the internals, it similar to the '03 GT/Navigator block and innards! Hope that helps somewhat.

Mine's a 300A...built on 6/02/02...but I have a "Traction Control" switch...hmmm, I wonder what that could be used for?

Welcome aboard Trick25. I have a '95 GTS Mustang myself.
If there is a MM that you would like to know the history of (if any), fell free to send me a Private Message.
Chris, where do you live? And BTW, buy that car!

trick25,
Check the timeslips section of the site on the top menu bar. You can check out current best times. From what I can see there, only Lidio is listed with a NOS run of 11.63 but he has other mods as well.
BTW. Welcome to the site. Buy that Marauder and enjoy. '98 Mustang cramped --- no way .

Nice looking car.
I dont see a problem with a 75-100 shot, but I'm not up to speed on N2O on the MM.
Great! Another Texas MM! Where in central Texas? We might have some folks near you.

Looks like a 300A. Has map pockets on the front of the seats, and stand alone clock.

If their price is down around 22K, that would be reasonable. Check the cars for sale on this baord. You may find one more to your liking.

Todd confused you, didn't he? I was there when, with a puzzled look on your face, you looked at the switch and asked Todd .."did you buy another Marauder?"

Older CVs and GMs might have a TC switch in the glovebox, but no Marauder that I know of does, at least from the factory.

The switch in your car activates the remote receiver in marty's car, and allows you to talk to/taunt him, even though you are in other States. Drives marty nuts when he suddenly hears your voice.

Don't you have to get out and turn the center hubs left or right for traction?

has anyone done any buying cars across. state lines? how does that work
The reason i ask is i could see my stang cause i have a few ppl that want it since i put a reasonable price on it.
ive done a search and found some left over 03s in other states.
But that brings me to a important qeustion. What do you think is a preasonable price for a left over MM
Thanks

Just a thought on the replaced head.
Maybe it has the upgraded head with the improved water passages. Could be a plus not a minus.

trick25 - welcome to the site - lots and lots of good info and people here - as far as the NOS, 100hp or less should not hurt the engine as long as it's a proper kit with fuel enrichment. I would keep looking for a MM - if you look here you may find one or look at the dealerships, you may find what you want - with the discounts from Ford and the dealers you may find buying a new one a better deal since you can get lower financing rates from a bank on a new car. Do your homework and find which option is best for you, and buy one - I've had 28 cars from a lowly 240D Mercedes with a 4-speed manual and 270,000 miles to a 2001 Audi S4 Avant 6-speed to a 97 C5 Corvette with about 425 rwhp, and by far the Marauder is my favorite car I've ever owned.

They weren't bent. They were worn to a point that oil was leaking into the combustion chambers. Replacing the valve guide seals didn't help, either.
Just my .02 and then some.

is the block aliumium or iron?
is the engine more akin to a mach engine or the 01 cobra engine?
Reason i ask is machs dont like nitrous at all.
How common is the paint issue. is there a recall on it?
Finally how had is the tranny. how much power and torque is usally lost from fly to wheels on stock mm

Aliumium?...is that anything like unobtainium? or collapsed neutronium?
Just funnin' with you, trick...
The block and heads are aluminum...it IS a Mach 1 motor, with cams from a 5.4 truck motor (IIRC) and a different intake...

well to be honest. im seriously rethinking my mm purshase. since the motor is the mach motor and ive seen too many motors go boom with em. im only going to get a mm if i can run a 100 shot of juice. on a regular basis (7-10 runs a month) safely. my mind isnt made up just got me thinking.
as far as other mods go. i want my car to stay stock otherwise.
