Original alternator is starting to get weaker. Any recommendations on what brand and amperage to get? Thanks!

Here's what I got:

https://www.dbelectrical.com/products/alternator-high-output-220-amp-4-6l-marauder-2003-2004.html

I like it...lots of power and overkill for many folks...

Keep your oem alternator, you will thank me later! I buy used ones because aftermarket are usually crap, I’d look on rock auto for a stock replacement anyway.

it’s marauder specific, so I would search there

Unfortunately, the OE alternator is discontinued by FoMoCo and isn't on RockAuto

It isn't though

Have it rebuilt

If you have a local shop who can do rebuilds I'd look into this. Or if you're bold enough you could attempt it yourself. I had a ton of problems with reman motorcraft alternators, I ended up installing a 78,000 mile unit from a friends wrecked 04 Sport and that solved my woes. Alternator is still on the car to this day.

Although I bought aftermarket, if I had a shop that could do a good job of rebuilding mine, it would be a no brainer! Rebuilding is not just cheaper, it is more confidence inspiring because the unit is fixed according to its' real weakness.

Go bolt on any random 4g alternator that doesn’t have the correct color voltage regulator and watch it not work!

Any recommendations for a higher output alternator than stock? I know about DB Electrical. Any other recommendations out there?

A friend of mine on fb bought a car quest 200 amp alt and put it on his 2003 grand marquis. It wouldn’t charge, he did some research and swapped the outer 2 wires on the regulator, or repinned it and it now works well.

This is great news, it might actually work on a marauder by repinning it too.

I read the fb, it was a 6g alt upgrade 200 amp and you swap the quick connect at the alt.
