Does anyone run 5W30 in the summer? I'm thinking about 5W30 Mobil 1.

After using pure Dino-Oil for the first couple changes...I've used this ever since, with the standard Motorcraft Filter

Motorcraft 5/30W full synthetic during warm months. Castrol 5/30 50/50 during cold months.
If you have a working relationship with a local Ford dealership (IOW, spend money there), service department could have excellent prices on lubricants and filters. They buy that stuff by the pallet and drum. Best prices I found for MERCON V and full synthetics were at the local Ford store.
Motorcraft PH2 oil filters have a stop drain valve. Don't know about Wix but most others don't. Walmart.

Chico Baravelli... Motorcraft PH2 oil filters have a stop drain valve. Don't know about Wix but most others don't. Walmart.
The correct Motorcraft oil filter part # is FL-820-S.
PH2 is the part # of the FRAM and should not be used. There are several TSBs put-out by other auto makers noting issues with FRAM oil filters and voiding engine warranties due to its drain-back valve (which is rubber/nitrile).
Motorcraft oil filters have a heat resistant silicone anti-drainback valve. Other quality oil filters that also have this are: WIX, and NAPA GOLD | SLIVER (which are made by WIX)

What gdmjoe said. My bad.
However, There is a Fram on my car because I did a Seafoam before and moly after the oil change. It will come off after 300 - 400 miles and a FL-820-S will go on.
AIR, Chrysler issued a SFB because oil pressure sensor failures and sometimes oil shop techs would let spring valve seats drop into black oil buckets and not know what they've done.21213

I run 5W-30 Walmart full synthetic year round, change it every 5K, and I ONLY use Motorcraft FL820-S oil filter. I have a cheapie catch can I made from a Harbor Freight air compressor oil separator, which fills up very slowly.
