I changed my personal browser to Brave, personal email to Proton and search engine to Swisscows.

No, I’m not doing anything wrong or illegal, I just am a huge backer of personal privacy rights which is why I use a numeric entry code for my phone and not the fingerprint or facial rec. Fingerprint or facial rec the police can access your phone w/o warrant – numeric entry code they HAVE to get a warrant.

This spying is one of the reasons why Microsoft is doing soooo many updates. The "eyes" require them to create backdoors into your computer, then they have to patch them closed and create new ones to prevent them being found.

I just use Edge and Chrome. I am not worried about the government spying on me as I have nothing to hide. Also I threw away my tin hat years ago.

That's interesting. How do you get paid for using Brave?

With over 300,000 Federal Laws and each State over 150,000 Laws We are all guilty.

Several years ago a new Federal Law was passed that went into immediate effect with out any Rule Making on how to comply. For 2 years until the Rule Making was approved thousands in my Industry committed multiple Felonies.

There is that saying that "everyone commits 3 felonies a day" but it isn't so much about government spying for me, it is the corporate spying. Have you been talking about something then suddenly you get ads for it on Facebook or something? I'm just tired of ads, tired of every square inch and second of life being filled with ads I didn't ask for.

Brave has an opt-in program that will popup little corner ads using the window notification box, that is the little gray box that pops up in the corner to tell you stuff.
The more of those you see (don't have to click on them) the more you get paid at the end of the month.
You get paid in BAT. Basic Attention Tokens, a crypto currency.

You can either use tokens to tip the creator's website you are visiting or just keep and sell them.
They are worth about $0.77 each right now.

Government spying isn't the problem. Companies are the ones doing all the spying

Welcome to the Utah Data Center.

Generally very little of anything sent or received or viewed over the Internet belongs to the individual.

Similar to checking books out at a Public Library.

Unfortunately in today's world, the large international corporations are the government with paid-for politicians representing the interests of the corporations to the people instead of for the people.
