This was one of Fords not so better ideas. The ones in the car are Marauder specific long out of production & unavailable aftermarket. I have taken several of theses rears apart including the one in the car I'm parting & the only one that had good spiders was my 62k mile car.3 of the 4 in the car I'm parting are in good shape the other one is pitted on the drive side will sell them to you if you are interested. Only other option you have is to change the entire carrier with something else. While I had both of mine apart I upgraded both with 31 spline axles & trac loc. I've heard that 28 spline trac locs are getting hard to come by new have several used Mustang 28 spline trac locs here which will work if that is something else you might consider lmk.

Those mm gears are exactly what he said. Mm specific.
You might be better off, buy a 2005 up, p71 rear.
the carrier is the good one that’s tebuildable and is 31 spline.
if you find the correct car it will have 3.55 gears too.
bone yard rear complete is $125.00, gut one out and use it to upgrade yours,.. good time to put a steep gear in it if you wanted

Thanks! Learned all about the 8.8. I sent Roush Performance an email and they are checking to see if they may have a set.. They are very busy. How much for the spider gears with 62K on them?
Skillman claimed to have a set, but the repair shop said they wouldn't work either.

62k miles ones are long gone only ones I have are the ones mentioned above. Took the cover off my other parts car today & somebody had already changed it to a Mustang posi so I'd imagine that one had already wrecked the spider gears also.

I highly recommend this. I did this on both of my Marauders. It’s inexpensive and you get 31 spline axles!

bone yard rear complete is $125.00In this part of the world junkyard rears are $500-$800 cheaper to just buy new axles & posi.

The other option is to buy an carrier like an Eaton.

If you want to go the 31-spline route, there's a guy in Wheatfield that parts out P71's. Not sure if he's still in business? 219-863-9010. I paid $200 for a complete rear axle 3 years ago.

Keep in mind a P71 did not come standard with a limited slip diff. It was a seldom selected option.
