Well I've been helping my grandpa trying to find a new car and he currently owns a Buick LeSabre. He likes full-size cars so I browsed around and this one pic of a black car caught my eye on edmunds.com so I decided to check it out. So far, I'm impressed and I think the car looks pretty nice and sleek for what its based off of. Since the car is relatively new to the market, I'd wonder what you guys think about the Marauder, I've read plenty of reviews but it's always nice to have owner input. Only bad thing is that its all black right now and I live in TX, eek. Thanks!

P.S. I am 17, asian and drive a 1993 Accord. Strange how I'm drawn to a big, black, full-size American sedan. I usually don't like big-big cars and somehow I can't stop looking at this black beauty. Kudos to Mercury ;)

They may be new to the market but the car it's based on has a great history. If you haven't yet, go to a dealer and drive one. You'll want it.
Let your Grandpa have the Accord ;)

Ditto to RCs reply. Check it out, drive one, YOU won't be disappointed, and you won't send Grandpa to the ER with chest pains.

The car is now available in Blue. Still a dark color. This spring, it is to be released in Silver. Drive the car, you'll love it. Depending on your gramps age, he might like it to. If your 17, he should be around my age 5X, I've got 2 grandkids, 18 and 17. I'm having 4.10's installed as I post. Also having factory spoiler installed, and should have the car back late tomorrow or Friday.

...or come to Dallas and test drive and buy my car for $27k.

If you can make it to Dallas, Logan's car is a great deal with the all the mods!

The car is great for any age. My 13 year old son and all his friends think it's cool. My 71 year old Dad loves it. My wife thinks it's nice but doesn't understand why it costs "so much."

My Dad has almost always driven full-sized sedans. For the last several years it has been Ford Crown Vics exclusively. He has been sorta considering a new CV LX Sport or Police Interceptor. I've tried to steer him toward the Marauder but he considers them too expensive. Plus, there's really nothing wrong with his 98 CV.

For anyone looking for an american made performance sedan there is really only one choice. And you've found it.

Like I tell everybody.
"I don't think ANY new car on the market is bad,Buy the one that you want."
When I first saw a Marauder in person I wasn't shopping for a car but I knew I would have one!
This is a GUT car, love it or hate it,I don't think anybody is on the fence about this car.(that OWNS one)

If you waht COOL it's the only game in town! Mercury spent 4 years on the Marauder. The engine is from the "Mustang Cobra" line up been around 10 years or so. Transmission is from F-Super Duty Ford pick ups. NO problems in those departments. Check the site for all the info. It's the only ride for the BIG DOG Jacket 5XL

Well my grandpa is about 80 which is what's keeping me from going all the way with this car. I'm a little worried it has a little too much power going for it lol. I do live in Dallas actually, but my mother is against all used cars, no matter how old, or how in good condition it is. Sorry :( Your replys have helped and I'll continue to research a bit more on any other options before we go for a test drive but, right now the marauder is on top of my list. Thx!

The Marauder is Canadian made not American.

menace... 80? I'd probably look at a nice Grand Marquis or Lincoln before the marauder. I bet he'd probably be happier...

Hey, I resemble that remark! The canadians assemble cars, they don't make cars! but if I offened you in some way, well I'm sorry, lets chill and have a cool one

Okay Menace-
The point being made is--Before we all get totally taking backwards with your statement ...and the fact that it (statement) is out of school on top of it all-- is----What is you point in stating the vehicle is "Canadian" Made????

Menace
01-08-2003, 06:15 PM
My point is its made in canada not in america as most members keep stating. Am I right or wrong ?

Menace

RIGHT !

FordNut
01-08-2003, 06:21 PM
Wrong...
We claim it's an American car, not a "made in America" car.

So your reasoning is that Nissan is an American vehicle because the Nissan pickup truck is made in Tennessee? No, it's a Japanese truck which happens to be made in America.

MaconMarauder stated its an American MADE performance sedan , which it is not. OK!

There just ain't a vehicle more American than a Panther..........

RF Overlord

How about you both agree that it's a "North-American-made" car... :argue:

RCSignals

RF, correct. Canadians are "American" in the same sense that US citizens are "American" Canada is a part of North America as is the United States, and that is what "of America" refers to in the name of this country.

The Marauder is built by the Ford Motor Company in it's plant in Canada. Ford has been building vehicles in Canada since 1904!
It is still an "American" car.

It's really that simple

Menace

I do not agree that canadians are american.Canadians are canadian.I do agree the marauder is an american car that is built in canada. A lot of car magazines refer to the car as an american made muscle car, which it is not.
