After my parking brake stopped working, I got under the car for a little inspection and found what I believe the service manual calls the parking brake frame bracket to have come loose from the body. There are 2 holes for bolts that hold it to the body but for the life of me I can't figure out what size they are. I assume they are metric, but 8mm is too small and 9mm doesn't seem to fit. I guess it's possible that it's 8mm stock and the threads are just worn...

I checked the parts list that is linked on here and the downloadable service manual I have...neither say much about the part that I can find.

Any ideas?

I think they are sheet metal style bolts if I remember correctly. not a machine thread.

That may be it. I ended up snagging a couple at the boneyard, but turns out my threads were also somehow damaged so even those wouldn't work :mad2:. Drilled and tapped to a 10mm and replaced with a couple class 10.9 10mm bolts. Not going anywhere now lol.

Thats probably the best thing you could have done.
