Good afternoon, I was replacing my blower motor today, decided to test the old one with a direct connection to the battery and it spins like a top, so I guest that's not my no fan issue in the car. I have replaced the a/c heater controller and checked the err code which was 24/25. So I replaced the blower motor and same error code. But that is another issue, now the car won't start. When I go to turn on the ignition, it is dead, nothing.

A step back, I also took off old tape by the batter and re taped exposed ground wires. So I pulled the battery terminal off and cleaned those with a battery pole cleaner and the car started. I let it idle for 5 minutes and it just shut off without warning. Tried to start it, nothing, but this time I have accessories, just nothing when I tried to start it, no clicking, nothing. A few minutes later I am able to start it and it will idle, then off again. I am clueless at this point and ready to sell it off.

Looking for suggestions.

04 Merc Marauder, rebuilt title 65,000 miles, seriously thinking I am way out of my league on repairs....

Thanks Fustrated Owner

Thank you and any ideas why wouldn't the fan work?

BCM, Blower Control Module. It's behind the passenger side cam cover in firewall. Turn blower on and give it a good tap with a screwdriver handle. See if it works. They develop a bad solder joint. Buy Motorcraft if you change it. There is a writeup on here in one of the sections. A sticky post in the menu of I think do it yourself forum.

IIRC the blower motor has 12v constantly with with key on. The ground signal from the blower module varies the speed. Mine went bad a decade ago. Pretty easy swap.

My part came in for the module, hopefully Sunday is a pleasant day to work on it. Took the car for a quick spin and no problems with it shutting off...
