I know you senior members are probably tired of reading this, but...

I picked up my new Marauder on Thursday night and have already put 200 miles on it. The performance is amazing (considering I was driving a 1988 GM). I have been reading this board for several months and was able to go to the dealer with more information about the car than they had. Thanks Logan for starting this board and everyone else for all the information that has been posted.

The first thing I checked for was to see if the subwoofer cut-out had been removed. I have read that you have to remove the rear seat to get to the package shelf but with my luck I probably would have torn or scratched the leather pulling the seat out of the car. So I took out the spare tire (by reaching UNDER the tire - thanks for that tip) and removed the four nuts holding the amp and speaker assembly to the bottom of the shelf. The cut out had already been removed.

I'm going to drive the car the way it is for a little while before I start with the mods but the first ones I'll get are the chip, plugs and thermostat.

Welcome to your new main hobby, VERN...

Waiting a bit on the mods is probably a good idea...that way, when you do 'em it'll be an even bigger kick...

If you've been lurking for a few months, then you already know this car not only grows on you, it grows better as you put a few thousand miles on it...

Those of us who've been around NEVER get tired of hearing about a happy, proud, new Marauder owner. And you're right, "lurking" around here for some time was a definate advantage that we early owners didn't have. There are a LOT of smart folks around here (me excluded)...glad you are around for the ride.

VERN: Welcome and enjoy the MM. I know what you mean about the dealer not knowing much. Got mine in Sept. Dealership was not "sharp" when it came to the nut and bolts of the car. Like others have said the car will become your new hobby and only get better with time. After almost 4 months I still get a kick out of people asking me what is it?
Best damn game in town! (IMHO)

Actually though I am not a senior member, I have seen the post and I personally think it is exciting to hear about new members and their car.

JohnnyB -

I picked up the car from Rockland LM. I tried Courtesy like you suggested in the Email you sent me but they were unwilling to go as low as Rockland with the price. I also got Rockland to throw the Mercury car cover in for free and the spoiler at cost.

Hey VERN (I've always wanted to say that to someone!)

Just curious: how much was the "at cost" for the spoiler? Did you pay "cost" for the spoiler and they installed it free?

RF Overlord -
They are going to find out the price for the spoiler and sell it to me supposedly at their cost. From this board I know what I can get the spoiler for from one of the Ford online parts companies. So if they do not beat that price I know they are not selling it at cost. Installation charges would be extra, but I plan on installing it myself.

My dealer quoted me $299 for the spoiler and $100 installation...I politely thanked them and called Torrie at FPN.com and did it myself for $226...you GO, boy...
