Got another Mercury.

Well its not a Marauder but its to save it from the bad winters here.

A 1998 Mercury Mystiqe with 2.0 Zetec Auto. Only 64,000 miles and has most options for the year. Fun platform diffently when you get Eibach springs and low profile tires and rims on. Now the 1993 Intrepid I was driving decided to drop 2 gears from its tranny 3rd and 4th. I only paid $4000 not bad and no rust.

Got me to thinking. I've got an old (but very good running) 2 door Topaz (with the 5 speed) that I need to get rid of. Anyone in Minnesota or Wisconsin want a winter beater to save their Marauder?

I need to drive mine as it's a "company car".

My wife has a 99 Contour. Nice car, but under powered with the Zetec. I could never get used to driving it once I started modifying my ZX3 Zetec. Night and day difference between the two.

There are LOTS of performance mods for the Zetec Engine !!!
There are guys running BOOST and NOS on them and getting up to 300+ HP. :bows:

It was a good car till the warranty ran out...
The day after we paid it off the transmition went out $2700.

Next, MAF sensor, O2 sensor, Plugs 'n wires,(and who knows what else to finally figure out the fuel pump was weak) $1600.

New rotors and front brakes $600. All that in less than 6 months.

We sold it for $1200 ($200 more than the dealer was gonna give us on trade in)

It was a good car other than that. Once things start breaking unload it...QUICK!
