Was it a Vinyl Roof or a Fake Convertible Roof??? Was the driver REALLY Small with Blue Hair?? Driving 47mph in the left hand lane??? Blinker on for about 30 miles???

i was at the bank today, and when i pulled in the parking lot i saw a guy in a golf cart coming up to me. He was the security guard for the outdoor mall which includes the bank . This is where i see the mm parked, as it turns out, its his marauder with the landau roof! I told him about this site.

ALF, I'm the guy that got bashed when I said that I saw an MM in a Clifton, NJ, dealership with a black Landau roof. Some posted that I couldn't tell a Grand Marquis from a Marauder, and they were some of the nicer posts!

But, pictures of the car were posted, and I was vindicated.

I saw a blk mm with a tan landau roof today.....?...is the owner on this site? Let me preface my comments by saying that when you buy your car, you can do anything you want to it! That's a buyers perogative. But, I don't think that a typical CV/GM Landau roof treatment looks right on a Marauder. The owner must be a CV/GM type of owner. And why would the dealer do this. Forget about the additional money. Because the buyer rarely ever does this themself. Its almost always pre-installed by the dealer and is in their stock.

I think the Marauder looks great just as-is! The dealer added rear spoiler looks good, and the rear bumper SS inserts look nice too. What else would you add to the exterior? If the Marauder had come with a factory installed supercharger, then a hood with dual hood scoops, like the 1987-88 Turbo Coupes had, with inter-cooling air intakes, would look really nice. Other than that, I'm at a complete loss for anything other than juvenile side stripes, etc. It is a car that looks fully thought out and just right out the door, and not too many cars are like that. Even the Impala SS cars looked really good as-is. They didn't need anything special added on to make them look cool. I think both the Marauder and the Impala SS are cars that were designed from the start to look awsomely cool the first time you look them! Not all performance cars are designed that way. The new Chrysler 300C is, for all the efforts of the Chrysler stylists, is a good example of a new car that just isn't really cool looking (I don't consider it ugly like some of said), no matter what engine they put in it.

I've owned previous cars that always looked like they needed something added to make them look better. But not the Marauder...its the real deal!

PS: But, the Marauder should have come from the factory with the following: A) The rear spoiler should have been already installed (like the SHO's); B) Those cool fender badges that everyone keeps buying (should have been installed at the factory); 'cause they look so good on the Marauders (like they were made for them); and C) The front and rear marque badges should have been designed using the Mercury head design, instead of the waterfall or hockey stick, or whatever they call that image.

I have to agree that its the owners opinon that counts, but I have to say that you forgot to mention the fender badges. Thats one thing that should have been on the car in the first place.
