Poll for total # of Marauders owned on this site

I would like to know what percentage of MM's of the over 10k made are members on this site. It might give us some clout with L/M(for what I don't know) or with vendors down the road. Please vote if you own a MM(or 2) in the appropriate category.

Seriously, what if one member owns say two black 03's ?

Ok, I am over analyzing this hehe

So what would it take to import a Marauder to OZ?? You have to change to right hand drive, right? Now here's a topic we haven't covered before!!

Thank you for the great graphic design on our Marauderville II t-shirt!!

For some reason the blues are represented disproportionately so far in this survey.

As of this posting they make up aprox 5.5% of the responders.

Yet 324/11,000 yields 2.9% of all marauders are blue.

Perhaps not enough folks have answered the poll as yet.

Jay,

I am pretty sure that it is just because the blue owners are the more enthusiastic of the bunch and, because of that, more of them have replied.

Either that or we are more intelligent. Not sure.

Ok, Ok, let the flames begin. I am wondering if Merc and Logan will race each other to hit the LOCK button. LOL. I am sorry, I am drinking martinis.

(one of the 2.9 percenters)I am very surprised that there aren't more 2003-2004 Marauder owners registered in on this poll. This website and forum has so many people participating in and out with new questions, and then many replys every day. You get the feeling that all 11,052 owners are on this site every day! This is the best location for any question regarding the Marauder.

TOTAL PRODUCTION BY COLOR FOR 2003 & 2004
8330 BLACK
1414 SILVER BIRCH
980 DARK TOREADOR RED
328 DARK BLUE PEARL

Closer to 328/11,052 is 2.97% -- make it 3 percenters as a nice round number. It seems that Black MMs are underrepresented .... need to do more recruiting for the MM.Net. :help:

Yep, having the right numbers helps. 3% it is.

I can't believe that there are only a couple of hundred Marauder owners on this site.It just seems like most folks haven't responded to the poll.

Plus I can think of a few specific blue owners who haven't responded. They shall remain nameless.
(D & L)

So if we figure 3% of the "2 percenters" that makes the blues the 0.06 percenters!

As my signature indicates, I've got a 2004 DTR.

Interesting to note that the numbers are pretty evenly split between the 3 colors for 2004. As I recall, a lot of people told Mercury to bring the car out with more colors than black. If they would have silver, DTR, and black from the beginning, they would have probably sold at least one silver and one DTR for every two black 2003's. That would have meant almost twice as many 2003's (yes, I know silver and blue became available in late 2003 but the buzz and advertising were over by then).

Then maybe more people would have picked up on the MM and more would have been sold in 2004-----and then maybe there would have been a 2005.

The way I see it, the MM was intended to be black. If you read the the material Mercury put out about the MM, they call it a 300HP black leather jacket. Now when we talk about the jacket, the slogan is: "we'll send you a black leather jacket so you can arrive just like your Marauder does, dressed in black." Do the other colors get a jacket in the color of their cars? So to me, the true Marauder, is black. Just like a true Impala SS is black with the "red bowtie" and a 5.7L. When I bought my MM, I got the dealer catalog with it that says there are only 3 factory options, 6 CD changer, heated seats and trunk organizer. Also a few dealer installed options. So it's strange
to me that Mercury would delete some items. Did they lower the price tag, also, with the "decontent" of the car? Anyways, I guess it's all in the personal preference of the individual. I enjoy mine more and more every day. Now,I prefer factory stock to modified, but did add 1 non stock item. Since in California, a black MM looks like a CHP, for $18 I added the "Police Interceptor" badge to the trunk lid, to make people think twice before passing!!!

So mine with the A additions and the B traction control was a good buy for the same price? I'll check the window sticker but I think the price is $34.595??? I got it for $28,700 after some haggling and rebates. Also my wife works for ITT and got another $500 off.

Bought my DTR last April. The dealer had three in stock, a Silver and 2 DTR's, one without many options, the other optioned out with moon roof and 6 CD changer. With rebates and some haggling, decided to go for the optioned one and haven't regretted it. Love the color, love the car. Running box stock for now, waiting to get a few more miles on it before tricking up the engine.

I recorded my 04 black MM on the poll. What were the options for 2004? I have the heated seats and 6 disc, but these came listed as standard equipment on my window sticker. Was moonroof, trunk organizer, or trunk net the only factory options for 2004?

chasrein01
02-12-2005, 03:31 PM
There were actually 4 options listed in the sales broucher for the 04. Heated seats, power moonroof, trunk organizer, and 6 disc changer. Of course there were others that were available through the dealer. Spoiler, car cover, remote start, alarm, bra, and others (6 disc, trunk organizer could also be purchased through dealer).

Although your local dealer will sell you the same policy, it will cost you more than from the dealer I got mine from. Lombard Ford, out of Winsted, CT. had a better idea; sell policys for less than the other dealers means more policys sold.......more total income for Lombard Ford. The ESP warrenty is good at any Ford/Mercury dealer, so your covered no matter where you live. Lombard contacts your dealer and adds the policy to the records keep on your Marauder...E-Z ! You can phone them at 860-379-3301, and tell em I sent ya...Ask for Erin Peck, he will explain all the details without a hard sell.

O.K, for those that are in need of details of the ESP warrenty plan I bought at a discounted rate AND were to lazy to call Lombart Ford ( I included the phone number and a contact)...here goes.....7 year/ 75,000 mile add on to original 3 year 36K = 10 years and 101K of Premium Warrenty. You can get less than Premium, but you will get less.....duh....
Whats covered? Everything but fluids, tires, and the parts that are not covered in your original warrenty. Over 500 mechanical parts, including Roadside assistance, rental car reimbursement are covered. I paid $1570, and my dealer was pleased to see that I got it. For more in depth info, call Lombart Ford, or go to Fords ESP web site.................no deductable, just like your original warrenty !!!!

mungce,

This is where you are wrong.
The Extended Service Plan offered by FORD is exactly what it is called...

an EXTENDED Service Plan.

Nothing MORE, Nothing LESS...

By buying this plan you are EXTENDING your Bumper-to-Bumper Warranty
to the terms of your offer.
7 yr/75,000 miles EXTENDS the 3/36 to 7/75,000.
10yr/100,000 miles EXTENDS the 3/36 to 10/100,000.
There is NO ADDITIONAL coverage.
Call YOUR Salesperson and ask him that...

This is why I asked you my questions, and this is why you AVOIDED answering them.
If your salesperson sold you something that offers DIFFERENT COVERAGE than cancel it,
because it isn't a FORD ESP Plan.
Its may be an ESP Plan offered to cover FORD Vehicles but it is NOT from FORD...

What looks too good to be true is just that...

There is no way you can get this plan, for this price, with ZERO Deductible...
Your cost is WAY BELOW Dealer Invoice for this plan...

Checked th esp website, there is no 100K plan available, and as stated above it extends the warranty, and it suppliments the original warranty when it runs out,, 7 years is 7 years from when vehicle went into service.

For the hell of it, I went to the www.fordesp.com site.

I put in details for my Marauder, New York, between 12k and 36k miles, between 12m and 36m old.
Here are the quotes I got for plans...

All prices are discounted prices for 7 YEAR plans with $100 ded...
PowertrainCARE
75k miles - $1,218.40, add $90 for $0 ded, $20 for $50 ded
100k miles - $1,477.60, add $115 for $0 ded, $25 for $50 ded

BaseCARE

100k miles - $2,029.75, add $245 for $0 ded, $45 for $50 ded

ExtraCARE

100k miles - $2,594.80, add $455 for $0 ded, $125 for $50 ded

These pricees are quoted by Broadway Ford, St Louis, MO.
This is the dealership that runs FORDESP.com

I am bringing these quotes to my dealer on Monday.
I want to look at the Dealer Invoice and see how close these are.
I remember seeing the $1,882 for the Premium Care 7/75k so the prices look right.

............still going great at 26K. I did opt for Fords ESP extended warrenty after knowing that we may not see anymore Marauders, 136,000/10 year, premium policy was under $1500; well worth the cost !!

On a simular subject; how many of us have 300As built in Canada, and who has the earliest build date ? Checked my VIN and found my Canadan build date of 6-6-02.........
You got an extended warranty with the added mods. How did you swing that? From what i hear Ford/Merc is not mod friendly.

Interesting to see the numbers! Today (3/31) is my 2-year anniversary of taking delivery of my '03 MM (build date 12/10/02). I got something this week from Ford about the ESP. There's a 60k Premium care plan extending out to 2009 that I might get. That plan is a bit over 1000. I only have 7600 miles on it. I'm pleased overall, but the other day the accessory sun visor on the driver's side flopped down a notch-like one of the detents broke. Hmmm-my first warranty claim!

Poll for total # of Marauders owned on this site

I would like to know what percentage of MM's of the over 10k made are members on this site. It might give us some clout with L/M(for what I don't know) or with vendors down the road. Please vote if you own a MM(or 2) in the appropriate category.I am the new owner (second owner) of a 2003 Black Beauty! I was looking for something new, but nothing spoke to me like this car. The second I drove it I knew it was the one. Low miles, perfect condition, great price...and nothing like it on the road. Life is good!

My buddy works the claim department for the extended vehicle warranty service and he says that he gets people everyday that say they have the ext plan and want to know why the part is not covered under warranty. He had to read some couple hundred page manual about the services of the warranty and in short he said that the dealer or any other third party will sell you an extended warranty for your car with mods, but if the mod has direct influence on the part failure they do not warranty that part. and if a part does fail that is covered and they have to remove your added mod they are not responsible for the mod if it becomes deffective and they charge more to remove the mod because that addition was not incorporated in the time study for the time it takes to do the servicing. So beware.

I dont know how far you are going to get with L/M, but this is clever to see who has what and how many.:cool4:
