When I took my test drive in the Marauder, I couldn’t help thinking about adding some equipment to the inside. Anyone thought about adding a flip screen monitor hooked up to a DVD player? The head rests would be perfect for LCD screens as well. This is something that I would like to do but am curious of what’s available right now for the car, and how hard it would be to install with the vehicles wiring.:beatnik: Let me know what you all think!!!

anyone have any experience with the headrest DVD monitors? I want to get them so the kids can watch movies when i take them places. Our headrests look like they would work great to insert the monitor in the back.

The daycare thing's a thought... but the only problem I see with it is MM03MOK would be dropping off RF everyday!

Darebren - I think that putting a monitor in the head rest would be dangerous and defeat their purpose. My wife purchased a minivan to transport grandchildren and it is equipped with a VCR and a monitor. Times sure have changed, we were lucky to have a radio and forget about air conditioning, PW Etc. ever do anything yet? I was thinking the same thing, but I wonder if the extended dash would prevent a dvd monitor from flipping up in the head unit?

I'd like to get a dvd/cd player with flip up monitor and then put a center channel speaker below it inthe same oem din opening. I think it would fit, but don't know if the screen would extend corretly with the dash overhang.

i used to have a 95 vic, that had the same style dash, and i had a flip up tv in the dash, and it worked fine. the whole tv unit, is the same size as a "normal" head unit. after that i had a truck with a flip up tv in the center console, and 2 tv's in the headrests, with a dvd player. right now i've got the stuff in a box. i'm planning on putting the tv in the dash, put i just don't want to cut up the headrests yet, the leather looks too nice. if i get the tv in the dash installed soon, i'll post some pics.

Nice if you travel alot. I'm thinking of something more portable and less 'installed'.

I saw one somewhere, can't remember where. It looked like a backpack. Put shoulder straps over seat. Has a LCD screen and a DVD player. Also has plugs for a VCR or Video Game input. Battery or plugs into 12v power outlet.

The headrest tv's are the way to go, but since they are replacements, I think it would be hard to find one with the god's head logo.
I am going over to see a buddy of mine next week that has an audio shop. We discussed the speaker inadequicies(sp) that all of us know about, and he is checking on different tv options. trying to work out some sort of trade with him, like advertising his shop for free stuff.

RCA offers a great portable DVD/LCD system that goes in the back seat and buckels up in the middle for secure placement. It has a hefty 500.00 price, but it is of excellent quality plus its portable. Its Model number is: BLD774 and heres a link to it.
