Whoa...
I would look straight ahead and turn my music down if I pulled up against that thing at a stop light, as I would want no part of it.
Again, don't get me wrong, I'd take a Marauder over a 300C ANY DAY, but you've gotta respect those numbers.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't the HEAVILY modified Marauders pushing about those numbers? And this 300C is making them N/A??

It'll be interesting to see how they price the 300C SRT-8. I guess we won't know until February 2005. 6.1 liter, 425 hp Estimated 1/4 mile in high 13's with 0-60 mph in low 5's. Looks like they did some suspension and body improvements also. Why can't I get past the "ugly factor" on this car???

The S/C ones are getting these numbers too, but I bet that the price would also put it with them too.

I think it is funny that when the 300C came out they tested it at 13.9 1/4 mile time. That car has 340 hp and 390 lb/ft of torque. Now they say this car with 425 hp will have 1/4 mile times in the higher 13's. The press writes whatever they want. I am sure that Chrysler will send out some ringers like they did with the orginal 300C to the journalist to get believe-it-or-not numbers.

I'm with Slim, how do these numbers change so much. Reminds me of the sixties in the opposite direction, when they used to lower the numbers for insurance purposes.

http://home.comcast.net/~hack_goby/DSCN0511.JPG I saw this about a month ago on I-696 going to the Roush Open House. It had a little different sound to it.I wonder of they will have this stealthy version with the black rims.OH! Just had this thought.Maybe this car is the new Police car there going to make.Ugly as they are there sure selling a ton.

For a Police pakage I would think they would use the Dodge brand. Also I'd say it was an SRT, I know the 300 board that duhtroll posted about thought it was one.

After reading that article I did a little figuring
SRT-8 70 Hp per liter
Marauder 66 Hp per liter
300C 60 Hp per liter
Sorry, I am still not that impressed!!

The Trilogy kit makes about 100hp extra correct? That'd yield around 87 hp/L.

I think if you use the rating at the flywheel like the manufactuers do instead of at the wheels, it would be even higher.

I picked up 150 hp at the flywheel with my Trilogy kit.

They beefed up the suspension, put a little rumble in the exhaust, different size tires to give it some rake, upgraded the brakes and the instrument cluster. Sound familiar? I think they have been watching us!! I bet this car will be well over $ 40k though.

Can I get one in a station wagon/wagen? If so, might be my next second car...

Agreed... My last car... SVT Contour.. 2.5 liter, 200HP = 80HP / liter
(without a turbo or SC, stock from the factory)

Bah....even if you buy one...you're still getting a Chrysler :D
They may be making 425hp....but thats at the flywheel...they'll need more to catch up with the s/c Marauders.
I'm sure they'll have an aftermarket...but it wont' be huge. A few might hit the 12's...even high 11's with the right stuff...but then again...so do the MM's. :)

It's just a shame that L/M couldn't see their way to following up like this w/our cars!
There is no substitution for cubic inches!

There is no substitution for cubic inches!Mmm.. 5.4L lightning engine and a hood with a big bulge in the middle (so it'd fit) ..
It's not so much the 380hp I'm drooling over.. as the 420lbs of torque...

I believe the SVT Contour had the highest HP/Liter power of ANYproduction car.
